Initial Remarks
Long ago on a far off world known to its inhabitants as Theressia there lived many races, some peacefully working alongside one another for the betterment and mutual protection of all. There were in fact two alliances, the first was made up of the dwarves, forest elves, humans and the elves who called themselves the first born. The second of the alliances was known as the Charine. They were strictly allied in order to complement each other militarily to conquer all of Theressia. The Charine was made up of orcs, trolls, and a third branch of elves known as sun elves.
There were the Dwarves who lived in the mountains toiling away expanding their cities in the Sercey Mountains. They were short, broad chested, even the females of the race, and rather hairy compared to most of the other races of Theressia. They did not farm, only hunt and mine, however they used the gems and minerals excavated during construction of new tunnels and dwellings to trade with the other races for fruits, vegetables and other items they needed to live. In general, the dwarves were short tempered and easily offended so it was best to be direct, to the point and polite when interacting with them. To any human if you have seen one dwarf you have seen them all because they all looked similar to one another in their fashion sense. In spite of mining and living underground they were very clean people and very organized, always keeping their tools and homes neatly arranged as it was custom to always be prepared for an unexpected guest. They dressed mostly in leathers acquired from the hides of their hunting expeditions. The handles of their tools were made from the bones of bears, deer, and the other larger game they hunted. Because of their abundance of minerals, over the centuries dwarves became known as the best blacksmiths in the land and everyone wanted to procure tools, weapons and armor made by them. Their largest trading partners were the humans who served as middle men seeing as their realm was in the center of Theressia. Magic within the dwarf communities was very rare and when they were found to have the gift they were usually trained as a priest to heal the sick and injured. Occasionally a magically gifted dwarf would decide to strike out on their own and study the art of war while still retaining the magical skills they refined in the church, however oftentimes their training was incomplete by the time they left.
The forest elves were quite different from their cousins, the first born. They were friendly, open and outgoing with everyone they came across, although not as much so with people who married into another race. It only happened once involving a forest elf and that was only with a first born. The forest elves lived in the branches of the great pine forest known as Cereba. It provided cover from anything which might attack from above such as dragons and the safety of being far enough off the ground that a land attack would be trounced with their superior archery skills without taking any casualties. To a casual human observer it would appear a group of children built hundreds of tree houses throughout the forest. The forest elves were masters of finding edible plants and fungi throughout the forest and never ate meat. They found the concept repulsive but would never belittle their human or dwarf visitors for eating the flesh of the animals they revered. The forest elves averaged about five feet tall and had very slim athletic frames and short pointed ears. They almost all had green eyes with a few exceptions of blue or brown and their skin had an almost pinkish tint to it and was as soft as silk yet as strong as the toughest leather armor. Depending on the time of year they dressed in greens and autumn colors to better blend into the treetops. They were known far and wide for their ability to get silk worms to produce far more than normal and higher quality silk than any other race. They were also very skilled with using the magic in nature to assault their foes and every child seemed to be born within their race with these innate abilities.
