Chapter 13

A New Start And New Beginings

Livior awoke the next morning to Vahlt drooling on his shoulder. He laughed and shoved Vahlt off of him saying "You did it again brother."

Vahlt said "Oh sorry, you know I can't help it."

Livior then gave him an impish grin and said "What would Mivia think if she woke up to you drooling on her?"

Vahlt turned pink and said "Don't make me worry about that too Livior."

Livior laughed and went to bathe while Vahlt left for his chambers. When Livior finished bathing he put on a set of robes that were white and royal purple. Once he was dressed he put his new dagger in his belt and placed all of the decorative gifts around the room where he thought they would look best. Finally he grabbed his staff and stepped out of his room and into the dining hall where everyone was waiting. Belam, Genia, Shriv, Vahlt and King Jon. He said "Good morning everyone." with a smile on his face.

Everyone replied in unison "Good morning Livior and happy birthday!"

Livior smiled and said "Thank you but you all told me that last night."

Vahlt said "Yes and today is your actual birthday so we are saying it again so get used to it!"

Livior laughed and said "Ok, ok, I'm used to it!"

King Jon brought bacon and eggs to breakfast and cooked them himself since Genia would not touch them and Livior loved it, especially the bacon. They all ate breakfast quietly for a while, Genia more quietly than the rest, she seemed nervous but Livior knew she would do just fine. Vahlt then said " Mivia is nervous about going to court today, she said she didn't have a nice enough dress to wear and was worried about looking foolish."

Livior called for a guard and one came in. Livior said "Please go to the best dress maker in Livioria and ask them to accompany you to Mivias new chambers down the hall with their best dresses and have all cost charged to me and express my gratitude for their extra efforts getting Mivia ready for court."

The guard turned and left. Vahlt smiled, laughed and said "I knew that was all it would take."

They all laughed and as Livior finished eating asked Belam to join him in his study which Belam did without question. They went inside and Belam explained all that was required and told him all preparations have been made and how Shrivont made a tiara for Livior to crown Genia with. It took over an hour for Belam to explain everything and make sure after court his day was clear for him to spend with Genia so she could ask him as many questions of his opinions as she could think of.

They then went back out and Belam pulled a stack of blank parchment from his robes, a new quill and a fresh bottle of ink and placed them on the table in front of Genia.

Genia asked "What's this for?"

Belam replied "For you to take notes later during your private meeting with Livior so you have reference material even if Livior does not have time to meet with you in person."

Genia said "Oh, ok I never thought I would be taking notes about my sons opinions."

Genia then got up and went to put on the new dress Belam had sent over early that morning and returned in a beautiful pink silk dress with lace around the skirt that formed outlines of wolves running across fields and hills. Her hair was pulled back into an elaborate set of four buns that appeared to resemble one large flower. As it was time to head for the throne room Livior stood and offered his arm to his mother who took it and walked alongside him to the throne room.

When they entered the court went silent and everyone stood. Livior saw to the left of the chamber sat Mivia in a dress of baby blue silk and looked more radiant than he had ever seen her. When Livior and Genia reached the throne Livior stepped up to the throne while Genia stayed where he left her. Livior then spoke loudly and clearly and said "Mivia please present yourself next to my mother."
