Shaewyn Tries to Fit In

Since coming to Livioria nobody spoke to Shaewyn except some on first born who seemed to know who she was, namely Belam. He would always stop her to talk and have meals with her which she was grateful for so she did not have to spend so much time alone in her own thoughts. She thought she might get to talk to Livior since he was kind to her in the cell as was his brother before him. Unfortunately Livior was now in a, from what she heard from Belam, self induced coma refusing to wake into the real world. Belam told her in time he would wake up and she would become very close to the royal family. Finally Belam was going to answer some questions Shaewyn decided whether he wanted to or not,

Shaewyn looked at Belam hard and said "How do you seem to know so much about me and what I will do?"

Belam smiled back at her and replied "Because I have already seen what you are going to do. I knew you would be joining us soon, I just did not know exactly when you would come or how you would join us. Thankfully you met the king before his long slumber and he gave you that ring. That is now one of the most precious possessions the king owns, or did own. He must have thought quite highly to give it to you and just after his brother died."

Shaewyn said "I know Vahlt gave it to him and it had great non magical power but never really thought of how much until the king blew himself up and put himself into this coma of his."

Belam frowned slightly and said "They were as close as two people can be. Either of them would die for the other and when Vahlt died Livior lost the will to live. He put himself into that coma which was in his own mind, a way to die with him and so now they both sleep, only Livior can wake up."

Shaewyn looked down and said "Why would anyone choose to wake back up after such a loss? If I had the choice I would have done the same after Jaelyn was murdered right in front of me."

Belam said "But, you kept going, you could have stopped and let yourself die but you choose to seek out Livior and join him instead. You chose to honor Jaelyn by seeking vengeance for his murder. Livior now has to find the strength you did after that tragic event."

Shaewyn said "I wish I knew something to do to help him through it. These people seem lost without him leading."

Belam sighed and said "Yes, they do. They need him as much as he needs them right now but neither can help the other while Livior slumbers. If Norvell finds out about Liviors condition before he fully recovers it could mean very bad things for us all. That is...unless you help fill some of his military duties while he is recovering."

Shaewyn was a bit thrown and said "Me? I'm no military strategist; I'm just a fighter who usually knows how to survive."

Belam laughed and said "Do you think a then thirteen year old boy was any better suited than you? Livior was thirteen or fourteen when he won the battle at Fortuna. It was entirely his strategy aside from the final illusion which took his and Vahlts ingenuity."

Shaewyn was a bit surprised "I thought he was older than he appeared."

Belam laughed "He does act it doesn't he? No, right now he is only sixteen approaching seventeen."

Shaewyn stopped for a moment to figure out what she just heard and absorb it. She then said "If he is so young then why do you people believe in him so fully and unconditionally?"

Belam answered "Because he is, has been and always will be our king. He is very bright and has an incredibly good pure heart. He cares about everyone more than himself and he is a fair and just leader. He has saved the people of Fortuna and the people of Cereba and of course he cured our problem that would have eventually led to our extinction."
