Sorrow and Fear
When they stepped out into Livioria Livior felt exhausted but dreading what he must tell Mivia and his parents in particular. He ordered all his mages and soldiers to eat a hearty meal and go to bed right away. He then walked toward the palace before he realized the forest elf guards had followed him through the portal. Livior turned sounding frustrated and said "I have guards here perfectly capable of watching over me."
The lead guard said "That may be true but it is our duty to accompany you wherever you go aside from your chambers of course."
Livior finally relented having too much on his mind and worrying about his brother and the rest of his family and strode off quickly to his chambers. When he got to the door he turned to the elves who were now alongside his first born guards and said "Take position here with my other royal guard, these are my chambers."
After they agreed he took a deep breath and pushed the doors open as he walked in. Minnett started to walk toward him but saw his eyes focused entirely on Mivia so she stopped. Livior walked to Mivia with a determined swiftness and lead her to his usual arm chair and sat her in it. He knelt in front of her and kept his eyes locked squarely on hers and said "Vahlt has been captured by the king of the orcs. I have scouts trying to find where they are holding him and as soon as they find out I will bring him back to you and your children. I'm sure however I find him he will need help recovering so prepare yourself for that or worse should I arrive too late which I hope not to. I am sorry I did not protect him better, I should have and I accept full blame for this."
Mivia kept her eyes locked on his and said "I know you will do all you can to bring him back to us brother, but looking at you right now I can see you need to rest if you are to rescue my husband so will you please bathe and briefly rejoin us for dinner before you go to bed? Will you promise me that?"
Livior smiled weakly at her and said "Ever as wise in your own way as Vahlt, I promise I will do as you ask right away."
Livior stood back up and turned to head toward his room when he had to stop and lean on a chair for a moment. Minnett saw and came up beside him putting his arm around her and she helped him to their room. She helped him out of his armor and while he bathed, brought him clean pajamas and took his armor into the main hall. When Livior finished dressing and came out he found Mivia, Shriv Minnett and Genia all cleaning and polishing his armor as well as cleaning the grime from his staff. He walked over and sat with them by the hearth which Mivia had abdicated his favorite chair and Genia had sat a warm cup of tea next to it. After a while Livior said "You all do not need to continue doing that, I will go in with dirty or no armor at all if I have to."
Mivia looked at him fiercely and said "You will go in looking like a king and the worst nightmare of any orc. When they see you they will realize just what a big mistake it was to take your brother and I want them to feel every bit of fear they can before you kill them."
Livior smiled at her and said "I will make sure they know the fear of abducting Princess Mivias husband and the destruction it will cause."
Mivia smiled back and said "Good, then we will finish what we have started."
Genia had run off to the kitchen and brought a plate of food over to Livior so he could eat while they spoke. They asked him what happened and he recounted the entire story to the best of his knowledge. When he finished Jorrett said "Surely you jest at how many you killed and how you killed them?"
Livior looked at him plain faced and said "No that is what happened. You may ask my newest guards."
Livior had forgotten on purpose to tell them about the new crown he now possessed on paper even if not the real one yet. Now he told them all about it and everyone stopped what they were doing and Genia simply said "You're kidding right?"
