"Walker I swear if you don't stop shooting at everything that moves ill shoot you, " I yell at walker making the other guys laugh. We were playing teams me and walker vs Verdugo and Cody. We had been playing for an hour and went through half a case a beer altogether.
"What the fuck, " Cody said as the tv, the Xbox, and all the lights went out. "Aw damn powers out, " He says poking his head out down the hall filled by other people wanting to see if everyone else was having the same problem.
"Hold on let me go find those candles my mom got, " He runs to his storage closet as we all get our flashlights out. He sits the candles down lighting them and we all sit there in a moment of silence not knowing what to do now. No power and 4 people who were kinda tipsy, disaster waiting to happen or a good time.
"Uh Astrid how about we get to know you better, " Verdugo says breaking the silence.
"Ok well, I was born and raised in Milwaukee. I'm the oldest of 3, I have two half brothers. I moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta when I graduated from school and that was where I met my ex-husband."
"HUSBAND?" They all say at once voice at a higher octave then usually.
"Yes husband, I was married for a year and a half, "
"What happened, " Walker says I could hear the concern in his voice.
"Let's just say who he was before we got married and who he was after. Were two completely different people, " I dropped my head to see Cody out his hand on my knee. I put my hand on top of his and looked up at him giving a half-smile. "But I left his ass, "
"Cheers to that sister, " Verdugo says holding his beer up.

We had been talking for about an hour just about our lives when the power finally came on.
"I'm gonna go to bed, this was nice." picking up as many beers as I can and throwing them away.
"Yeah me too, " Codys say following my lead grabbing the last two beers on the table.
"Bye walker, Bye Alex." I peak over Cody's shoulder waving to them.
"Bye Astrid, " they both say at the same time.

I brought my bags with me cause I already knew I was staying with Cody that night even though he didn't ask if I wanted to. It was kinda a mental mutual decision.
"What time do you need to get to the airport, "
"I booked a late flight at 1:30 so I guess 12:00."
"Ok, I can take you to get breakfast, " He smiles tilting his head.
"It's not a date, just two friends getting breakfast." I raise an eyebrow trying to give into his smile.
"Goodnight Astrid, "
"Goodnight Cody, " I close the door falling onto the bed. I felt all the happiness had to get sucked out of my body. I was leaving tomorrow to come back with all my stuff. Leaving Christian, leaving us.
"I can't do this, " I say to myself grabbing my bags running to Cody's room. "Cody thank you so much but I have to go, "
"Oh uh ok, " I walk downstairs ordering an Uber that was only 3 minutes away.

I knock on the door loud enough he wakes up, come on you asshole wake up.
"Astrid what the hell are you doing, " I smile as the door opens and I'm greeted by a sleepy shirtless Christian. I walk in dropping my bags turning around pulling him to me connecting our lips. He's shocked at first but gives in to the kiss walking me backward to the
bed not pulling away for a second. I pull away for a second to pull off my shirt.
"This is one last time, "
"One last time, " He smiles kissing my neck.

I wake up laying on his chest. I hadn't opened my eyes yet just wanting to savor the moment. I finally sit up and stare at him for a second before going and taking a shower. I had told Cody last night I would get breakfast and I wasn't gonna skip out on that. I put on a t-shirt and my lulu lemon leggings.
"Where you going, " he sits up rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"I'm going on a breakfast date, that isn't a date."
"Astrid be honest did something happen between you and Cody, " I feel a wave of angry on confusion go over me and I knew it read on my face.
"No I said nothing happen, nothing happen, " I scoff biting my bottom lip. "Why would you even-" I throw my head back and take a deep breath. "Never mind I'm going to have breakfast with my friend then I'm going home,  " I say putting emphasis on the friend walking to the door.
"Astrid wait, " he grabs my elbow pulling me to him. "Text me when you land, you have your key. I lo-… ill see you soon, "
"Ok, " I grab my bag walking out the door just standing there for a second. He wanted to say I love you, I wanted him to say I love you.

"When we play Oakland in 2 weeks can I stay with you? " Cody says shoving a piece of bacon in his mouth.
"Will help me build my Ikea furniture?"
"Deal, " he smiles taking another bite. "Are you excited to start your new job in October, "
"Yeah really excited this is a huge deal you know, "
"Oh yeah, traveling the country with a team meeting new people every day. Seems like a job id like, " he laughs making me roll my eyes.
"Shut up you know what I mean, " I say kicking him under the table.
"I know, and hey now I have reason to watch the warriors games" I smile sipping my drink.

"Text me when you land, " He hands me my bags giving me quick hug.
"Will do, " I get through the airport and happily see my flight wasn't delayed. I take my seat and a deep breath. For once I want excited to go home, I was just gonna leave again and this time I wasn't leaving and coming back. I put on my headphones turning on stand by me. Laying my head back thinking about nothing Christian. Thinking about how he didn't say I love you. I didn't say I love you.
