I wake up to a cold room, an open window, and the feeling of someone staring at me. I jolt up and look all around me to see no one. I get off the bed and go over to the window to close it. I put on my sweater and my slippers and head downstairs. I go into the kitchen and walk straight to the coffee pot and make my cup. I add a couple spoons of sugar and hazelnut creamer.
"Good Morning, Katherine." Elena greets me
Damon is right behind her and he ignores me. "I see Damon is still being a brat, it was months ago and I called it off." I scoff
"Tell Katherine that I'm not being a brat, I just don't want to talk to her." He tells Elena
"Oh no, I'm not getting into this. Yes, she tried to get Klaus to kill you but she called it off and apologized. Damon, we have tried to kill her and Klaus countless times, and she's over it. Right Katherine?" She looks over at me
"Yes, I'm not one to hold a grudge."
"Yeah right. She tried to help us kill Klaus once, that was because of a grudge." He smarts off
"He killed my family, and everyone I ever knew. Remember? You tortured me with it when I was dying, and you had fun too. If anyone holds a grudge, it's you." I snap
Damon doesn't say anything and just walks over to the fridge and pulls out a blood bag. He goes and sits down by Elena. The silence is really awkward when Stefan walks in.
"It's either me or it feels really tense in here." He states
"Yeah, you can thank your big brother for that." I simply say
"Oh. He's still mad?" He asks me
"Seems so." I take a sip of my coffee
"You're six months today. Three more months to go." He smiles
"Yeah, three more months until I give birth and I still can't find Silas." I say rubbing my belly
"Have you chosen a name for her?" Elena asks
"I'm stuck between Isabella and Ava. I really want Silas here when we name her."
"We have been doing our best to look for him, but you shouldn't stress. It's not good for the baby." Elena says
"You're really taking this doctor thing serious."
"Yeah, I loved what my father did and I want to follow in his footsteps. Plus, my blood can heal people." She smiles
"I personally think that Isabella is a lovely name." Damon speaks out of nowhere
"Oh, he speaks." I snark at him
"Yes, he does speak and he forgives you about Klaus. I still don't forgive you for 1864 though."
"Here we go again." Stefan sighs
"What?!" Damon exclaims
"Damon you have got to be kidding." Elena looks at him sternly
"Calm down, I'm only making a joke. Plus someone said something once and I quote "I'm sorry I turned you, I'm sorry you didn't end up as a nobody killed on a bloody battlefield, I'm sorry that I gave your life purpose." Stefan turns and looks at me and I smirk as I shrug my shoulders. "And that person is right. She did give my life purpose and with that said, thank you."
"You really said that to him?" Stefan whispers
"Yup." I whispered back
"So Katherine, what do you want for breakfast?" Elena asks
"I want to go the grill. They have really good french toast. I'm gonna go get dressed."
I take one last sip of coffee and make my way upstairs. For some reason I get the feeling of someone staring at me. I slowly turn around and when I do Stefan is standing there. I put my hand over by fast beating heart.
"Jesus, Stefan. You scared the crap out of me."
He doesn't say anything as he stares at my stomach. I stay in silence for a few moments as I examine his face. He looks... happy.
"Silas..." He pops his head up quick and looks me in the eyes.
I smile and take a step forward. He sees what I'm doing and takes a step back.
"No, don't come any closer. I don't want to hurt you. I don't want her to hurt you."
"You won't hurt me, I know you won't." I step closer and he steps back
"I'm serious Katherine. I've killed too many people, I don't want you to be on that list. Please." He pleads
I stand still in my tracks and examine his face some more. "You're scared. Why? Where have you been all this time?" I question him
"She said she would kill you if I tried to come back. She threatened you. I couldn't risk you or my child dying."
"Then why are you here now?"
"I had to see you. Amara's been gone for a few days now, I was making sure you were safe... that she wasn't here... that she didn't-" He stops what he's saying
"I'm fine, so why don't you just come back to me?"
I start walking towards him again and he doesn't move back or try to leave, I finally get close to him and place my hand on his cheek. He leans into and closes his eyes and takes in a deep breath. That's when the veins started under his eyes. He quickly opened them and looked at me, frightened. He quickly speeds out of the window and is gone in a flash.
"Katherine..." I jump around to see Elena
"Elena, you scared me."
"I was checking to see if you were ready." She scans me up and down "And clearly you're not." She looks at me suspiciously
"I can't find anything. Help me?" I ask
"Yeah. I'm sure we can find something." She walks into the closet and back out with a dress and hands it to me
I eye it up and down and tilt my head to the side "That'll work."
After I get ready and I go downstairs and everybody is already waiting and conversing. When I get down there everyone quickly goes quiet. I look around as all three of them stare at me.
"What's with all the silence?" I let out a little chuckle
The three look among each other and over to a person I just now noticed.
"Hello, Katherine."
