Chapter Four: Ava

*3 Months Later*

"Come on, Katherine. Just one more push." The Doctor looks up at me.

I look next to me and see Nadia. I grab her hand hard as I push a child through me and scream out in one last pain as a crying baby comes from under the blanket. I lay my head back and smile, looking back over at Nadia.

"Thanks for being." I smile

"Sure thing, Mom."

The doctor quickly cleans off Ava, wraps her in a blanket and hands her to me.

"Congratulations! It's a girl." I smile at the fragile baby in my arm

I have always wanted to know how it was holding my child in my arms for the first time, and now I know. I just met her and I already miss her.

"Miss Pierce, would you like to sleep? We'll take great care of your baby, we promise."

I look over to Nadia and she shakes her head yes. "I'll be with her." She smiles

I nod my head and simply drift off to sleep.

I wake up and look around my room and see a thing of pink balloons, a teddy bear, and a thing of flowers. The balloons and bear saying 'it's a girl' I smile at the thought. Someone knocks on my door and then slowly walks in.

"You awake?" Elena asks

"Yeah, I am. How long has it been?"

"You've been sleeping for two days now." She says calmly

I jump up in a worry and look around. "Two days! Why didn't anyone wake me? Did Nadia-"

"Katherine, calm down. Nadia is with Ava in the nursery, she wouldn't leave without saying goodbye."

"Oh Thank God. Can I see her?" I ask

"Let me go get the Doctors."

She walks off and in a few moments comes back with Nadia and the tiniest thing rolled up in a blanket in a little crib. Nadia slowly picks Ava up and places her gently in my arms. I just look at her in awe and smile.

"Katherine, we have something to tell you." Elena looks worried

"There were... complications after the birth."

"What does that mean, Nadia?" I ask with concern

"With everything going on with Qetsiyah and Amara, I don't need you to worry about this too."

"What, Nadia?" I say gently rocking the baby

"Silas... he came. He signed the birth certificate. That's not all..."

"Nadia." I say sternly

"He knows about me taking the baby with me."

"How?" I ask

"Amara found out, somehow. She told him and now he is outside and he won't let me leave with her."

I just look down at my baby girl and then slowly hand her back to Nadia. She places her back in the little hospital crib.

"Let him in. We're gonna have a long talk about this."

Just a moment passes and Nadia rolls Ava out and Silas enters the room. I sit up on the bed and just stare blankly at him.

"What in the hell is wrong with you?!" I shout

"I'm not letting her take Ava. She isn't only your daughter."

I slowly but surely get out of the bed and stand up. "You must have some balls Silas. Your two exes are trying to kill me. You're an idiot." I state
