Chapter Twenty-Three: This Is A Lot To Handle

"Hello there, princess. You look like crap." She smiles

I don't say anything as I let the shock pass. Damn... shock is a feeling. Oh, God. I think to myself.

"I killed you. I held your head in my hands and snapped your neck." I remind her

"That's the thing about being a witch, Katherine. We love our protection spells."

"So you've been alive this whole time?" I ask

"Yes, I have been and I've been watching you. You turned off your humanity because you killed me, why is that?" She walks closer to me

"Well, that doesn't really matter. Did I turn off my humanity because I felt bad about killing you, yes, Will I turn it back on because you miraculously came back, no. It's best you leave, I'm not up for visitors."

I turn my head away from her so I don't see her face. She stands there for a second before she turns back around.

"Nothing. I don't know how to get her humanity back on. It's something you're gonna have to go at alone, Silas."

I listen as she walks off and Silas sighs. Why can't these people just leave me be?

"You can come in, Silas. I'm not gonna bite you." I chuckle

"I think I'll stay right where I am, Katherine."

"What can't see me like this? Can't see me thirsting for blood? Every time I move my veins feel like sandpaper and it's all because you put me in this situation. I hope you feel good about the torture you're putting me through." I state

"This isn't my fault. You know that I know that, We all know that. Qetsiyah is alive, so shouldn't you turn your humanity back on? For me." He pleads

"Stop! You can either come in here and face me or you can be the coward you are and leave."

He doesn't reply and that's when Klaus comes barging in the room and pins me up against the wall.

"I'm tired of this, Katerina. You can turn your humanity on by yourself or so help me god I will make you turn it on." He threatens

"You can't do anything to me, Klaus. You've already killed my family, what more could you possibly do?" I ask

He just drops me and leaves the room. I'm met with silence for a few minutes before the sounds of a woman pleading for her life.

"Please, Klaus. Don't do this to me, please!" The woman screams

As I listen closely I make out the voice more and more, It's Nadia. There's no way he found her, there was a cloaking spell on her. Klaus drags her into the room where I am and she stares down at me. I can see the scared look in her eyes, the same look Qetsiyah had before I killed her.

"You turn your humanity on or I'm going to kill your daughter, right in front of you." He threatens

"I'm gonna have to call your bluff." I simply say

And the moment those words left my mouth, Klaus, shoves his hand straight into Nadia's chest and rips her heart out. The look of fear in her eyes slowly fades her life along with it. Nadia falls to the ground, veins moving up her body. The sudden surge of sadness and anger pour out of me like a river. I scream out in pain as I watch the lifeless body of my daughter lying there on the floor. I look up from her and I see Klaus standing there, smiling. I take all the strength that's in me and I launch at him. My first instinct is to jam my teeth into his throat and draw blood. He tries to shake me off my I just sink my teeth deeper. He finally gets a grip and throws me off of him. I get back up to attack again before Silas stops me.

"What are you doing?! Get out of my way!" I shout at him

"Katherine... stop."

"No, I won't stop. He just killed my daughter!" I shout again

"Katerina... I need you to look at me. I need you to look into my eyes."

Silas takes his hand, places his hand under my chin, and lifts it up. I try to pull away but ultimately my eyes make contact with his. I feel the tears running down my face as I look into his eyes and see instant regret.

"What did you do?" I ask, choking back tears

"I'm sorry, Katherine. But I had to do it, it was the only thing I could think of to get it back on. I had to make you think..." He pauses

I look over to where Nadia laid and she's gone. I look to where Klaus last stood and he was gone as well.

"But he- she-. You've been in my head this whole time. You made me imagine Klaus and Nadia. You asshole!"

All of the sudden the hunger for blood is gone, the sandpaper feeling in my veins, gone. I look down at my wrist and there are ropes around them. I look up around me and I notice the place where Amara kept me after she kidnapped me. Once my eyes focus on my surrounding I just let out a scream.

"Silas! Come out, you bastard!"

I hear footsteps approach me and Silas comes into view. He reaches down to my hand and unties the ropes from my wrist. Once I get feeling back into my hand I lay a huge slap across his face and I can hear the sound of it echo through the empty building. I reach my hand up to my face and I can feel a little bit of wetness.

"I'm sorry that I had to do it this way, Katerina. But you were digging yourself a huge hole that I didn't think I could have gotten you out of."

"So you have Amara kidnap me? Make me believe that I went back to Mystic Falls, that Klaus tortured me and killed my daughter? That was the only way?!" I question

"Amara kidnapped her all on her own. Good thing I found you before she got back to you."

I look over and I see Amara unconscious on the ground and then I put my focus back on Silas.

"She was going to kill you. So I stopped her and at that moment I thought this would be the perfect opportunity. An opportunity to get you back, because I love you."

"Then stop loving me!"

"I can't. I won't. Because at the end of the day, Katerina, I will love you, always and forever."

I can't help but laugh at the ending of that sentence. He looks at me in confusion.

"You just used the famous Mikaelson family quote. 'Always and Forever'. I just found that funny. So Qetsiyah, is she?"

"Alive. Very much so. The conniving bitch had a protection spell on her, it's her fault that we are in this mess. But not to worry, I have something planned." He states

"No. I don't want this anymore. This war has to end. And it ends now."

We hear a stir beside us and we watch as Amara slowly gets up off the ground and walks towards us

"That's the thing, Katherine. I don't want this war to end, not until I kill you."
