We drive through the town, people crowd the streets and sidewalk, music all around like always.
"Oh wow." Caroline exclaims from the backseat
"Pretty isn't it. So full of life. I've always loved New Orleans, the music, the food, the men. Always a pleasure." I smile and Caroline snorts
"Klaus invited me here once or twice, I just never took him up on that offer. Now that I see it in person, I wish I did."
"Speaking of men... we need to find you a one night stand. You're obviously still stuck up on Klaus." I put in my two cents
"I'm the one that broke it off, Katherine. I told him that he needed to focus on his daughter and protecting her. I don't need a one night stand to get him out of my mind. Plus, I think that being single for awhile will be good for me."
"Okay, okay. Hey, look." I point to a small black sign that says 'Rousseau's'
"A bar?" Caroline asks
"Yeah, we should park. I need a drink."
"Just one. Then we get a hotel."
We park the car as close as we could and waled the rest of the way. People brushed by us, laughing and having a good time.
"This... Caroline, is the real city that never sleeps." I smile as I open the door to the bar
We are laughing and joking as we go to the bar. There is this blonde bartender that comes up to us. "Hey, guys. My name is Cami, what can I get for you guys?" She smiles
"Cami we could use some shots, Tequila please." I smile at her
"Sure thing, coming right up."
She walks off and I look around the bar at all the people and when I reach the end of the bar and there he is. Klaus. Cami comes back with three shot glasses and a bottle. She pours each of us one and then smiles again.
"Thank you, Cami."
I take my shot down and look back over to Klaus. He was talking to Cami, and she was smiling at him. They look close.
"Guys... Klaus is here." I nod my head over to him
He looks over to us and smiles. He gets up and walks over to us. "What are the chances that you guys are here in New Orleans of all places."
"Camille, love. Another round for my friends." He says to her
She walks over to us and her smile goes away. "Klaus, how many times do I have to tell you to not call me that?" She pours us another shot
"You have a very beautiful, Camille." He smirks
"So you've said. So, are all of you vampires too?"
When Cami asks that question I spit my tequila out. "Um... just Stefan and Caroline here. I'm Katherine. It's nice to meet you, Cami." I extend my hand to her
She takes it and shakes it. "Nice to meet you too. You are so beautiful, how do you get your skin to look so flawless?" She just stares at me
"I'm very young, Cami." I smile innocently
"You can't be that young. You're like what 22 , 23?"
Klaus just laughs at her statement. She looks at him with a scowl and then turns back to me.
"I'm 19. I've just recently become human."
"What do you mean?" She tilts her head to the side
