Guess who is finally here?
The rabbit loomed in the doorway of the Employees Only room. The suit itself looked homemade, obvious stitching marks around the arms and legs. His fur was a somewhat yellowish green, meanwhile it was a vanilla down from his chest to his stomach, his muzzle also following the same vanilla color theme. Two whiskers on either side of his narrow muzzle were evident as well. He wore a small purple bowtie and a purple vest covered in light violet stars. Two small, but noticeable, black buttons were attached to his chest, right under the bowtie. And, to top it off, he had two large, floppy bunny ears and a smile that seemed to always be there, unwavering.
He could be considered cute, I suppose, if I were a child.. His piercing purple orbs began to move, scanning the room as I felt panic hit me. Just as his gaze landed on me, I ducked my head down, hoping to whatever god was out there that I wasn't the one he was looking for. Hesitantly, after what felt like forever, which in reality was only a few seconds, I risked a glance. Well, fuck. Why is he still staring? He seemed to be waiting for me to acknowledge him because when we made eye contact, his everlasting smile seemed to grow. And, to make it only worse, he began to walk towards me, tilting his head toward the side in a way that suggested he were challenging me to do something. A wave of despair slammed down onto me as I watched him.
The closer he got, the more I could only silently plea, Please, stop walking. Don't come over here. Just.. Please, don't.. But, of course, he kept coming. Walking slow and keeping eye contact as if to mock me. And, then, his hand raised up into the air, and he fucking waved. He knew he had already gotten a reaction out of me, even if it hadn't been a physical one. He enjoyed knowing he was making me squirm, this fucker.. I refused to give him any more delight, turning my gaze back to desperately look at Merida, coming to a pause when I realized she wasn't there. Unconsciously, I remembered she had left while I was mid freak out. To the restroom, I think?
I'm alone here. I frowned and groaned internally, trying to stay calm, hoping with everything I had, he would just disappear like all the other times.. My gaze suddenly moved to look at Mark, a small sense of relief pushing the dread away, even if it were only a little bit, glad he was at least enjoying his time here so far. "Now, kiddies, the performance is at its end! But fret not, for now Freddy and the gang will be free to wonder about! Be careful to avoid their feet." A loud announcer's voice boomed from the speakers, causing me to jump from how sudden it was.
I watched as the animatronics one at a time stepped off the stage, careful as not to step on any of the crowding children, their movements cautious. For some reason, it dawned on me that, their movements and the way their gaze sparkled with emotion seemed a little too.. Human? "I've heard there's a birthday boy.~" A voice whispered into my ear in a low sing-song tone, my heart sinking. It was too smooth to belong to an animatronic and, yet, I knew it didn't belong to a human either.. Of course, how could I have forgotten about him?
"Don't.. You even dare think of harming him.." My voice wavered but I kept my gaze steady, masking my panic the best I could. I will not let this damn rabbit thing lay a single finger on Mark. I refuse to let a damn thing happen to him, so help me- "Relax now, I only wish to talk, Delicate flower, or rather.. (Y/N).." I had to hold back on cringing from the nickname he gave me. I have a new name to hate incredibly so.. And, How the hell does he know my name?! It was a wonder I didn't screech at him when he stepped into view, a glint in his eye I couldn't quite place.
He slowly moved to sit on the chair across from me, his ears flopping as he did so, our gazes connecting once more. I went to speak again, say anything to this smug bastard, but instead, he held a finger up to his muzzle, shushing me. The fuck you think you're doing, bastard- A sudden tug at my sleeve caused me to jump, reluctantly breaking contact with the grinning rabbit, looking down and being met with a bright eyed Mark. "(Y/N)! (Y/N)! Guess what!" He chirped excitedly, his eyes sparkling, his dimple showing off from how wide his smile was.
"Ah- Y-Yes, Er, Mark?" I stumbled over my words from the intense gaze of him on me, letting out a slight nervous chuckle. Mark didn't seem to notice, happily waving someone else over, another young boy soon walking over to us. He wore a makeshift hook on his hand, an eye patch over one eye, and a red bandana wrapped around his head. "Look at the new friend I made!" He squealed, bouncing in place at this point. I couldn't help but allow a small sly grin grow from a new thought, leaning down and lightly rubbing my nose against Mark's, earning a few squeaks from him, "(Y-Y/N)! You're e.. Embarrassing me i-in front of Mike!" He turned his head away and huffed, causing me to softly chuckle from the red taint on his cheeks.
"Aye! Lassie! You'll be walkin' the plank for that!" I paused from Mike, I believe his name was, speaking up, looking over at him. I found it both amusing and adorable the way he spoke, "Sure, Matey." I grinned playfully, ruffling Mark's hair before reaching over to gently pat Mike's head, earning a small pout from both boys. "Now, You two go play, I'm a little busy currently." Mark paused before slowly nodding, sending one last pouty look before running off to a lone stage where a single fox animatronic still stood. Mike quickly followed suite, looking back at me and making the 'I'm watching you' motion with his fingers.
I smiled and chuckled, freezing when the rabbit I had pushed to the back of my mind spoke up, "Ah, so the birthday boy has a name. Mark, how cute." A little too late did I realize my mistake of speaking Mark's name.. I really don't like how he spoke his name. My expression became blank, looking back at him and sighing. "..Speaking of names, since you apparently know everyone else's, what's yours?" He seemed amused from how I tried to brush him off, chuckling as he tapped his fingers against the table, humming, "Wouldn't you like to know, Kitten.."
My eyes narrowed as my gaze sharpened into a glare, crossing my arms and scrunching my nose up. "I can care less honestly, bunny boy. Either tell me or you'll forever just be known as 'the rabbit', I couldn't give a shit about it. Also.. How do you even know that nickname?!" He seemed to completely ignore everything I had just said, only replying to the last part, much to my annoyance, "Ah.. Your friend is.. How do I put this? Very loud.." Even if I agreed with him somewhat, I wasn't going to show the slightest hint of it, waiting for him to continue instead, "And, as for my name... I don't really have one, but I prefer..
