~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I held Mark's hand within my own as we approached the (F/C) vehicle, waving to Merida, whom was already driving off. "Be good!" She yelled out the window while passing by, people walking to their own cars sending looks towards us. "Love you Marky boo and sugar bear!" I couldn't help but snort, rolling my eyes playfully at her, while Mark seemed to be embarrassed. "Now, let me help you in here." I hummed, opening the back door, leaning down to lift the eight year old, placing him on the seat without any complaint. "Hey.. (Y/N)?" Mark's timid voice caught me off guard since he's usually a very bubbly boy.
My brows quirked upward, humming in response to him as I helped him with his seatbelt. He seemed hesitant to continue for a moment, "Do you.. Do you miss your Mama?.." My body tensed upon hearing the question, surprised it was him, of all people, asking me, my wide eyes locking onto his expression. "Where is this coming from..?" Mark's expression became sheepish, unable to meet my gaze as he replied, "I.. I heard Merida talking.." I paused before letting out a short sigh, raising my hand to slightly pinch my nose. Of course it came from Merida.
"Well.. Yeah. I do miss her, you caught me." I let out a light hearted chuckle, keeping any pang of longing from my voice and expression. I don't want him to feel bad.. "But, that's nothing for you to worry about, silly little one. When we get to my house, we're going to play as many games as you want! How about it?" Mark's eyes lit up as he finally made eye contact with me, his sheepish expression melting away into excitement, "O-Okay!" I smiled from how quickly he cheered up, closing the door and climbing into the driver's side.
Starting up the car, I carefully began to back out from the spot, the doors automatically locking. I kept a watchful eye on the other cars around us since many of them were acting as if they've never driven before. Teens, I bet. Then, I set the car to drive, exiting the parking lot soon after, a sense of comfort filling me upon knowing we were finally leaving the pizzeria. A few minutes into the drive to my house, I realized it had become strangely quiet, glancing up at the mirror to check on Mark.
A chuckle escaped me when I saw his head was tilted to the side, barely audible snores coming from him. "I'll just bring him to bed once we get there, that seat can't be nearly as comfortable." I chuckled to myself, looking ahead once more, almost slamming on my brakes when a jackass suddenly crossed lanes right in front of me without warning. I'm glad Mark is asleep right now, or I would get in trouble for cursing later- I glared at the purple car ahead of me after a drawn out intake, taking a turn onto my street.
I glanced at the many houses passing by before finally seeing my own come into view, slowing to a crawl along the side, turning into the driveway and parking the car. I sighed, calming myself as I pulled the keys from the ignition, reaching over and grabbing my phone I had forgotten earlier, shoving it into my pocket. I slid out of the car and closed the door behind me, opening Mark's door before locking the vehicle, placing the keys in my pocket. I carefully unbuckled Mark and scooped him up, quietly shutting the door.
I smiled softly from his peaceful expression, walking up to the entrance of my house, pausing for a moment when I had looked up. My eyes squinted at the ajar door, slowly pushing it further open with my foot, a sinking feeling in my gut. I could immediately tell something was off, I could just feel it. My gaze cautiously scanned over everything as I hesitantly walked inside, closing the door behind me. I let out a small sigh, already knowing if something was indeed off, I wouldn't find it until later..
I kept my guard up though, walking over to the stairs and making my way up them, heading directly towards my room once I reached the top step. I walked into my room, where I then carefully tucked Mark into bed. I hesitated before gently patting the top of his head, "Sleep well, little brother.." I smiled softly, turning and walking out, I don't know if that was strange of me to say- At least he was asleep, so he didn't hear me. I headed back down the stairs and then to the living room, only to freeze mid-step when my eyes landed on him. Guess I've found what was off..
I narrowed my eyes at the rabbit, whose legs were crossed and his eyes closed, sitting on my couch. His eyes slowly opened upon hearing my approaching footsteps, a wide smile appearing on his face. Creepy. "Well, you wished to talk so let's talk, Flower.." I huffed at his statement and the use of a nickname, moving to sit on a nearby chair. "Ah-Ah, No, come sit over here." I sent him an unamused glare as he patted the spot next to him, noticing a cheeky grin growing in place of the wide smile. Guess if I want something out of this weasel, I have to follow his directions.
I nearly rolled my eyes to the back of my head from the thought, planting myself on the far side of him on the couch. I wanted to stay as far away as possible, which was difficult since he was right smack dab in the middle of the couch. "Technically, You're the one who wanted to talk, Glitch.." I slightly hissed, my gaze on the blank TV screen, Glitchtrap simply chuckling in amusement from my snap. "Giving me the cold shoulder, eh? And I really thought you were warming up to me too!"
My brows raised, looking over at him to give him a blank 'really' look. "Very funny, considering I don't want anything to do with you.. Besides.. I've been seeing you ever since an incident. You're my prime suspect at this point, bunny boy. How do I know it wasn't you?" I glared angrily at him before turning away, feeling tears start to burn at my eyes. Fuck.. Why does it still hurt? I let out a small, irritated grunt from becoming emotional, quickly wiping my tears away. When he hadn't responded, I weakly chuckled, slowly looking back at him.
His expression had darkened, his gaze locking onto mine, a sinister glint in his purple orbs.. Well, What a quick change that was from the cheeky rabbit. "If I had killed your sister, don't you think I would've killed you by now too?" I froze at that statement, stuck watching him slowly move closer. "I didn't kill her, (Y/N)." The way he hissed my name made me slightly flinch, Stop.. "I simply found you interesting, darling.." By now he was so close to me I could feel him breathing against my cheek, soon against my ear..
"Do you trust me?..."
I grew wildly uncomfortable at how close he was, my posture tense as I forced my gaze away, attempting to ignore him, not wanting to give him a reaction. Which is kinda hard to do when someone is breathing right into your ear.. "(Y/N)?" A soft voice mumbled, a yawn soon following after. My gaze shot over to look at Mark, my savior, who was standing at the last step. The breathing had disappeared, causing me to cautiously look back. A golden rabbit plush took the place of where Glitchtrap had sat,
"For the birthday boy..."
