~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was rather silent during the ride to the hospital, my gaze sometimes unwillingly glancing over to the rabbit seated in the passengers' seat. I sighed silently, thinking back to what he said to me, "I know this may seem rather sudden but.. No matter what happens, I'll be here for you, alright?" That sentence felt genuine, having sparked some warmth within me, but it was soon replaced with negative thoughts.. And, no matter how nice it felt, I can't help but think it was also strange.. I mean, we haven't known each other for long.. Is this just a way to gain my trust? I have to keep my guard with him.. However, that didn't stop me from feeling guilty in some sort of way, it must've been a little hard for him to say that to me... Right? And, there I was, staying silent..
My gaze locked onto him, finding myself to be in a very thoughtful mood as I stared. He was looking out the window, the side of his head pressing against it as he watched the buildings go by, his gaze holding an almost distant look within them.. I bit my lip and focused back on the road, wondering why I felt the need to care so much.. "Hey.. Glitchtrap..?" I saw him perk at the sound of my voice from the corner of my view, his head turning to face me, "Hm?.." I chewed my bottom lip nervously before mumbling, "I'm sorry.."
He seemed surprised by my words before quickly inquiring, "What for, Kitten?" I tried to become irritated by the nickname, wanting to feel like my old self, but I just couldn't. I felt saddened, if anything, by thinking of Merida saying that to me.. I allowed another sigh to slip past my lips as I pulled into the parking lot of the hospital. Parking the car, I clicked off the engine before turning to face him directly, frowning softly, "For earlier.. You know.." I trailed off, attempting to gather my thoughts before I continued, "When you said you'd always be here for me, I didn't respond.. I found it strange, I suppose.. And, I just couldn't get Merida and Mark off my mind. I wasn't sure how to reply.."
I nervously and, somewhat, impatiently awaited an answer or even a reaction after I finished talking.. Why is this reminding me of earlier? However, I didn't receive either, he didn't respond and only blankly stared at me.. "I.. I guess, I deserved that, huh?" I weakly chuckled in a sad manner, my expression dropping as I turned and opened the door, climbing out. Another sigh left my parted lips, closing the door behind me before I started my walk towards the building. I only paused when I heard a car door open and close, soon tensing in alarm from arms wrapping around me. I was pressed back against someone's chest, finding myself relaxing, for some reason, when it was Glitchtrap who began to speak.
"Oh, it's fine, Flower! I understand that you're worried about your little friends, it's alright. And, I'm sure, I was coming on too strong and very all of a sudden as well.." He chuckled sheepishly, holding me closer to him, much to my surprise. I'm starting to wonder why he's having this sudden change in attitude.. Wasn't he threatening me just a day before? Why don't I care now? The warmth of him against me caused me to start to become emotional for some reason, so I turned and buried my head into his vest. I felt him tease before he slowly pat at my back, We're almost there, (Y/N).. I had to silently remind myself, frowning from just how pathetic I was being again, Just a little further and we'll be able to see them..
In rather reluctance, I slowly pulled away from the surprisingly warm hug, managing a small smile up at him. Then, I turned to face the building, the smile dropping as my brows furrowed, "Well, let's go now.." I heard him hum behind me in response, slipping past me, leaving me to quickly follow him. The hug made me feel the slightest bit better, I must admit.. He reached the door before me and held it open for me, causing me to playfully roll my eyes. "You didn't and don't have to do that, you know." I chuckled slightly, grabbing onto his arm as I walked past, pulling him along.
He tensed up in what I believe was surprise before relaxing, softly chuckling himself. I released his arm, granting him freedom from my grasp, as we approached what looked to be the receptionist desk. The lady sitting on the other side looked up from what she was doing, her brows raising in irritation, "How may I help you?.." Her voice held such a snarky tone that it made my smile threaten to straighten out, however, I replied as calm as I could, "Hello, I'm here to visit Merida and Mark Hills. I'm a friend of theirs." Her gaze began to scan over me, seeming to be checking me out, before she scoffed, shifting her judging gaze to the computer screen as she slowly typed something in.
If she's trying to annoy me.. She's succeeding.. My smile was by now strained, my gaze slowly changing into a glare. My shoulders tensed from a hand planting onto my back, "Calm down.." Glitch whispered, gently rubbing my back in a attempt to calm me. It worked to a degree, my fake smile returning, but I continued to glare at her. God forbid, I sure hope she isn't dating anyone. If she is, that person must've been so very desperate.. "Merida is in room 240 and Mark is in the room right across, room 241.. They're on the next floor."
The snarky receptionist voice cut through my thoughts, a soft relieved breath escaping me. "Oh! Thank y-" I was cut off again from her voice, "Is that good enough for you, sweetheart?" Bitch, What. I tensed up, my glare sharpening, "It's better than enough, bitc-" Just before my sentence could finish, I was yanked away, my glare staying directed at the lovely woman as I was dragged away. I inhaled and exhaled to calm myself, knowing it may be my out of whack emotions that was causing me to become angered more easily.. I looked ahead at Glitch as we walked down a hall, well, he walked, I got dragged. Soon we reached a staircase, his gaze locked ahead until he stopped walking.
He then turned to face me, looking my burning gaze over before snickering, chuckling as he placed his hand on my shoulder. "I'm surprised you managed to last as long as you did." I bit my tongue, rolling my eyes and turning, starting to walk up the stairs. His footsteps began to follow soon after as he continued, laughing lowly, "You looked like you could've murdered her at any given moment." I don't like how he phrased that.. But, it isn't like he's exactly wrong.. I huffed, reaching the finale stair, looking into the door for the next floor, "I mean.. It's like she's asking for it! I won't be surprised if she does get murdered.." I grumbled, walking through the doorway, Glitch chuckling as he continued to follow me.
I mumbled as I walked down the hall, my gaze scanning the number plates by each door, glancing back at the now quiet rabbit. When my gaze landed on the correct room numbers, we came to a stop. 240 with 241 straight across from it, like the bitchy receptionist had said. "Well, at least she did one thing right, not sending me on a wild goose chase.. She can still go burn though." I muttered, a nervous feeling sparking through me as I stared at the 240 number plate. What will I see? I'm not too late.. Right? She.. She has to be alive, just has to be.. Yeah, I wouldn't have been allowed to come all the way over here if she wasn't okay, right?
By now, I was starting to panic again, barely feeling the soft press of Glitchtrap's hand on my shoulder, his voice reassuring as he spoke, "(Y/N), don't worry.. I'm here for you..." I took in a few deep breaths, attempting to calm again, my eyes closed. This continued for a few moments, Glitch's soft words finally starting to calm my racing heart. I slowly nodded, my eyes opening as he took my hand into his soft plush one. I tightly gripped onto it in return, reaching for the doorknob with my free one, slowly opening the door,
"Oh, (Y/N)! You came!"
