Please, prove me wrong." I mutter to myself again and again.

"Oh fuck!" I hear a manly voice behind me and immediately I freeze. Are there people in this room? But the bed is empty! Slowly, frightened to death I turn around and sigh a relief. My husband is standing at the door looking as shocked as I am. I run and hug the life outta him. Thank God, he's here. There's no way I could have done this alone.

"It's okay! I'm here now." he tries to calm me. But I can feel he himself is in panic mode.

"What are you two doing in this room?!" I hear a stern voice behind me. I release Harry and turn to greet the bluish gray eyes I was looking for. Gwen is slim, she wore a black dress which hugged her body showing her curves. She's not as old as I had imagined, which means she must have had me when she was very young. She took a robe to cover her body. I could see the marks on her skin and tears fall down my cheeks. She's... Oh God!

"Answer my question! Don't you know it's not a couple's room. They are on the eighth floor. Stop holding the queue." she is very angry but her eyes are so sad and tired.

"No, we are here to meet you." Harry says, "We uh, we don't need a room." I could tell how embarrassed he is and it almost made me laugh.

"Gwen," I begin and move closer to her, "I'm April."

"Good for you. What do you want?"

"Did you by any chance give birth to a girl and then threw her in the garbage?" I ask bluntly. That's enough of embarrassment and shame, I have to blunt and clear today!

"What? What are y-you t-talking about?" she stutter, "Stop wasting my time kid!" her voice less harsh now.

"I have no interest in staying in a place like this anyways, Gwen. I'm just here to know the truth." I look at her with disgust, "I just need a yes no answer."

"Are you that girl?" she gasps. Her hand covering her mouth in bewilderment.

"Yes, I know you wish I was dead. But, I'm not. A person who runs an orphanage found me and then I was adopted by Mr and Mrs Andrew Grey."

"I don't wish you were dead!" she snaps almost hurt by my comment, "And yes, I did give birth to you. So what? You think I could have afforded a child with this career."

"You chose this career!" I grit my teeth.

"You would think that, wouldn't you?" she says bitterly, "You rich freaks think that everyone else have just as money as you do. But that's not the truth! After I got pregnant with you my parents abandoned me and I couldn't complete my education. Your father was a good man and wanted to be with me but his parents didn't allow it and sent him away. I was alone and scared. This was the only option I had. I couldn't let you grow up in this kind of neighborhood. So I thought it was best to give you away." by the time she finished both of us were crying. I can't believe I just accused my mother of being a slut. I should have seen the other side also. That's what my father has always taught me.

"I'm so sorry," I lower my head, "I shouldn't have said what I said." I was hurt from her actions but so was she.

"It's okay dear," she whips her tears, "You have the right to be angry. After all, no mother should ever abandon her child."

"You did what you had to do, ma'am." Harry says, pulling me close to him.

"He's nice," Gwen gives us a small smile, "It's hard to find trust worthy men, especially boyfriends."

"He's my husband." I say.

"Oh," she says, "Congrats."

"You should come with us." Harry says.
