Not 'JUST' friends!

Chapter 18

This time I gathered all my strength and pushed him away.

I asked him straightforwardly, "I am finding it really hard to understand you Liam. At some point you tell me I am that special to you and at some point you say that you might have a thing with Sophia? Can you please tell me what am I to you?"

He was looking at me surprisingly. He then stated, "Mia, I love you." There was a huge pause in between until he finally added, "As a bestfriend."

He then laughed loudly as if it was a joke. By this time I had tears in my eyes.

I don't know but it hurt me. I wanted to slap him on his face and beat the shit out of him.

He noticed the tears in my eyes and this time he was serious when he spoke.

"Mia, I don't want to lose you anytime in the future. And this is all I know at this point of time. You mean a hell lot to me and all I want is to see you happy. Please don't cry. I am sorry for that stupid joke."

I just nodded my head to indicate that I was fine. He hugged me again but this time it was so tight that I could hear his heartbeats. He smelled so good.

Liam's POV :

As soon as I opened my eyes, I noticed that everyone was in the hall except Mia.

I went to James's room as I thought she might be there. And yes I was right.

There was my girl standing in the balcony staring at the stars above. She looked so beautiful as the moonlight dawned on her white face.

I went near her and tapped her. I might have scared her and so she hugged me tight.

I savoured the moment by hugging her back. I could smell the cherry lemon fragrance from her neck.

I soon released her and her next action intrigued me. She bit her bottom lip and adjusted the stray hair behind her ear.

And I knew I was dead. I quickly pulled her into another hug without realizing that this could be bad.

And to my surprise she just co-ordinated with me. I then asked her for a walk.

During the walk she asked me about Sophia and I wanted to scream right in her face that it was never Sophia.

It was always her from the very moment I saw her. But instead I replied what she might not want to hear.

I then tried to pull her leg by asking her about what she thinks about Sophia and her answer made me smile.

She is good was all she said and I knew she was not liking the closeness which I pretended to share with Sophia.

After walking for about 20 minutes, we reached a cliff. I could see the bright city lights from here.

It was beautiful but not as beautiful as the girl or I should say my girl standing right in front of me.

I couldn't control any longer and so I entangled my fingers in hers and pulled her closer to my chest.

But this time she retorted to my action and bursted out. After seeing her sudden outbreak all I could say was I love you Mia.

I didn't realize what I had said and so to coverup the mess that I created I further blurted out as a bestfriend.

By this time I could see tears form in her eyes.

I knew I was the reason behind them and this pricked me hard. I couldn't see her like that.

It hurt me more. This time with all seriousness I accepted how much she meant to me and how I never want to leave her.

All she did was to nod her head. I pulled her once again for a hug but this time it was tighter.

I never want to lose her and even the thought of it makes me cry. I want her to be mine forever. I want her to be my girl.
