On the wedding day :
"So today is the big day", I murmured when the sunlight made its way in my room through the windows. I looked at Liam's photoframe on the side table and hugged it as if he was present there in person.
I enthusiastically jumped from my bed and made my way downstairs. On reaching down stairs I couldn't believe what I saw.
All my friends were already there at 7:00 in the morning helping my mom with the arrangements. Suddenly Lily noticed me and came towards me, "Hope you got your beauty sleep babe."
I looked at her and just nodded in response. I couldn't help with all the smiling that was consuming me lately.
I went and sat on the couch but before my butt even felt the couch Emily took hold of me and pulled me away, "You can't relax now. I have to get done with all the preparations to make you look like a Greek Goddess today. So take your butt off and wait for me in the room. I'll be there in five." I groaned internally and took slow steps towards my room.
On reaching my room, I caught hold of my cellphone and texted Liam, "Good Morning baby and a happy wedding day to us. Can't wait to be yours today. Love you. Meet you very soon." Soon Isabella came up with a plate full of fruits.
She had a list in her hand and was busily looking at it and ticking something off. "Complete this before Emily starts with your makeup. Orders from her."
She gave me one last look before walking out of the room. I just looked at her and gave her a toothy smile.
The ceremony was from 12:00 p.m. and it was at Roosevelt island which was approximately twenty minutes from where I lived. After completing my breakfast I lazily lied on the bed staring at the ceiling, my eyes catching hold of my cellphone after every damn minute waiting for a reply from Liam.
Finally Emily entered the room with my wedding gown and I just looked at it in awe. I had tried it previously but looking at it again just made me realise that this was seriously happening.
I rushed towards her to grab the dress. Then my mom entered the room with a box that seemed to contain some sort of jewellery.
"This is for you", she said while handing it to me. I opened the box excitely to find a diamond brooch.
"Wow. Is this yours?", I asked her while looking at its intricate design. "It was your grandmother's which was passed on to me when I got married. And now I am passing it to you. I wish you all the luck for this new life that you are going to start with Liam", she said while tears pricked her eyes.
I hugged her almost instantly and by now both of us were in tears. "I'll miss you mom. Take care of yourself in my absence", I said while parting from her.
She looked at me and nodded while wiping my tears. "No more tears now. We need to start with the makeup otherwise we are going to be super late", cried Emily bringing us all back to reality.
Now it was just Emily and I in the room. She was already done with my hair and was giving a final touch to my makeup.
It was already 10:30 a.m. We had to leave in half an hour.
Once I was done with my makeup and hair, she handed me the dress and smiled at me. I went into the changing room and when I came out she was standing there looking at me emotionally.
She handed me the heels that I needed with the dress and called someone and said, "She is ready." The next minute Isabella, Lily, Noah and Benjamin entered in the room.
I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. "You look so pretty Mia", Benjamin said while coming over and hugging me.
"All thanks to Emily for making me look this pretty", I said while handing her a rose from the flower vase just next to me. She threw it on the bed and left the room hastily.
