Tonight was the night Dylan finally meets my parents. I was extremely nervous and hoped that all would go well.
Dylan and I have been dating for almost 6 months and I finally told my parents about him 3 weeks ago. Why did I wait so long? Well you see, my parents can be a bit much, especially when it comes to whom I'm dating. They can be very judgmental and believe that all their opinions are facts.
Dylan and I were currently in the car on our way to my childhood home. Dylan was driving, one hand on the wheel and the other intertwined with mine resting in my lap.
I could feel my breathing becoming heavier and I think Dylan took notice to it. "You okay babe?" He asked looking over at me quickly then back at the road. "Mhm just nervous." "Nervous? If anyone should be nervous it's me." He laughed. "Yeah I know I just- I really want them to like you." I sighed. "Well I hope so too." He chuckled.
"Dyl come on this isn't a joke." "I know, I know. I'm sorry." He said still laughing a bit. I gave him a look and he gave me the same one back trying to be funny. I then rolled my eyes at him. He leaned over and gave me a peck on the cheek as an apology.
"Hey I'm just messing around babe. I'm sure they'll love me! I mean how could they not?" He said cockily. "Ok no need to get cocky." I smirked. He laughed.
We were finally pulling up to the house. Dylan parked and rushed out of the car and over to my side. I furrowed my eyebrows and unbuckled.
I was about to open my door but Dylan beat me to it. "Ma lady." He bowed. "Loser." I said giving his shoulder a shove and walking past him. "I try to be a gentleman and that's what I get?" He mumbled. I rang the doorbell and Dylan stood next to me.
I intertwined our hands and he gave me a small squeeze. I could hear footsteps coming towards the door. The door opened and it revealed my mom.
"Oh my gosh I can't believe you're actually here!" She squealed, indulging me in a hug. When we pulled away she looked over to Dylan and smiled. "And you must be the famous Dylan!" She said giving him a hug. "You must be the beautiful mother." He said. "Such a charmer." She said pulling away and smirking at me. We both laughed and walked inside.
As soon as we came inside I saw my father coming towards us. "There's my gorgeous girl!" He said giving me a hug. "Hi Dad."
When we pulled away he gave Dylan a small smile. "You must be Dylan." He said holding out his hand. "Sure am sir." He smiled shaking my father's hand.
After a little bit of helping set the table, we were all sitting and ready to eat. "So Dylan I heard your quite the big shot actor." My dad said smugly, followed by my mothers small giggles.
"I wouldn't say big shot." Dylan nervously laughed. "He's just well known in the industry." I added. "Well from what I've read you seem to have a lot of female fans." My mom laughed. Dylan just smiled not really knowing what to say.
I gave my mom a look and she just shrugged her shoulders. "I've seen some of your movies Dylan." My dad said. "What'd you think sir?" Dylan smiled. "Not my cup of tea." Dylan's face dropped and I squeezed his hand under the table.
"So how much do you make on average?" I almost spit my drink out and I'm pretty sure Dylan almost did too. "Dad!" "Excuse me?" Dylan cleared his throat. "I asked how much do you make?" My dad repeated.
"You don't have to answer that." I said looking at Dylan. "No it's ok" "No it's not." I retorted. "Y/N let the boy speak for himself." My dad laughed. "No I actually think Dylan and I are gonna go." I said getting up.
"What?" My mom said wide eyed. "Yeah what?" Dylan said furrowing his eyebrows at me. "I'm not gonna sit here and have you harass my boyfriend." "I am not harassing him! I'm simply just asking him questions." I death glared my father before grabbing Dylan's hand and walking away.
"Dinner was very good Mrs. Y/L/N! And uh nice meeting you Mr. Y/L/N." Dylan said quickly before I proceeded to lead him out the door.
When we got back to the car, I slammed the door in frustration. "Woah what did the car do to you?" Dylan said while getting into the drivers seat. "Nothing sorry I'm just frustrated." I said putting my head in my hands.
Dylan took my hands away from my face and held them in his. "Hey it's ok, it isn't your fault. Why don't we just go home and chill out for the rest of the night?" I smiled at him. "Thatsounds amazing." I said resting my head on his shoulder.
"But then in the morning you have to promise me you will call your parents to arrange something else." I looked up at him and groaned. "Please Y/N? I really want them to give me another chance but for that to happen we have to give them one too." "Yeah I guess so.." He kissed my lips quickly and started the car. "Ok good. Now let's get out of here."
