"No, no, no, no, no, please, no" I begged, "please, tell me you're kidding! You can't do that to me"

"Sam honey, calm down" mom said.

"No! Tell me you're kidding"

"I have no other choice, darling. It's my only option"

"Why?"

"Cause you can both stay there"

"Why can't I stay home?"

"Cause I want you to watch Soph. I want her to be with someone she knows"

"She knows Sierra"

"Yeah, but not as good as she knows you"

"Why can't she stay home with me?"

"Cause you can't take care if her for two and a half weeks"

"Two and a half weeks?" I yelled, in frustration, "I thought it was gonna be a few days!"

"That is a few days"

"What about Mike's mom? Can't she watch us?"

"Sweetie, she has work. She can't take care of Sophia the whole day. I'm sorry, but there's not gonna be a change of plans, so go pack"

I sighed in frustration and went upstairs.

So, that first time miss Lovato visited our house, two weeks ago, was definitely not the last one. She came over almost every day. Thankfully, I was in school a lot of the times she was here, and when I wasn't, I didn't really pay attention to her. I was usually in my room, or if we were having dinner she would just be talking with my parents and I would listen to their conversation. She also didn't really try talk to me. I mean, she always said 'hello' and 'bye' when she came and left and she usually asked how I was doing, but I guess she realized that I didn't like having her in our house, so she gave me space.
In school she also didn't act different. She would tell me to pay attention, every so often, but that was it. Nothing special.

My parents were going on a business trip, tomorrow. It's not their first time and usually I would go to Andrea or Mike. It is, however, the first time, since Sophia was born. My mom, being the person that she is, decided that we stay by miss Lovato. Miss Lovato, for fucks sake! Her and my mom had become very good friends, but I sure as hell didn't wanna be in her house. I can't believe it and I don't like it at all. Worst part of it all, mom only told me today, and we're going tomorrow, already. I don't even have time to mentally prepare myself to live with my teacher for two and a half fucking weeks.

"Hey Sam" Andrea said as I answered the phone.

"Hi Andrea. What's up?"

"I'm good. You?"

"My mom's sending me to miss Lovato"

"What do you mean?"

"They're going in a business trip and leaving me in miss Lovato's care"

"That's cool"

"Cool? That's horrible"

"Yeah, it kind of is, but I didn't wanna rub it in your face"

"Thanks"

"Can't you come to me, or Mike?"

"No, cause I have Sophia"

"My mom can take care of her"

"Your mom has other kids to take care of"

"I'm sure she can take care of Soph as well"

"My mom thinks it'll be too much work"

"How long are they gone?"

"Two and a half weeks"

"Oh, that's a long trip"

"I know. Andrea, I don't wanna go!"

"I know. As much as I like getting to know my teachers, I would not want to stay in their house"

"What do I do?" I sighed.

"You can come to me after school and stay for dinner. Then you only have to sleep there" Andrea suggested.

"I can't do that to Soph"

"Why?"

"Cause I take her to the park everyday. I take Sierra too, sometimes"

"So, come to me after that"

"But Sophia is relying on me. I have to bring her to bed and all that stuff"

"Can't miss Lovato do that?"

"Sophia won't let anyone, but my parents and me, to give her a bath and tuck her in"

"Oh. I'm so sorry, but I can't think of anything else" we were silent for a few minutes.

"Oh my god" Andrea exclaimed.

"What? Please tell me you've got a good idea"

"No I'm sorry I don't, but I just realizes something"

"What?"

"It's Thursday today, right?"

"Yeah"

"After tomorrow, we have vacation for two weeks"

"You're joking, right? Please, please tell me you're kidding"

"I'm sorry, I'm not"

"I can't stay in her house the whole day with her. God, this is worst than I thought"

"You can take the girls out, a lot. That way you don't have to stay with her inside"

"Samantha sweetheart, dinner" dad yelled from downstairs.

"Andrea, I gotta go. I'll talk to you, ok?"

"Yeah sure. I'll see you tomorrow and we'll think of something"

"Yeah, thanks. Bye"

"Bye"

I hung up the phone and went downstairs.

I can't believe I have to spent my vacation with miss Lovato, my teacher. It's vacation, not to be spent with a teacher.
