After I had put Soph to bed, I went back downstairs.
Demi was still upstairs, giving Sierra a bath and singing the girls to sleep.
Wilmer was sitting on the couch, watching TV.

"Hi Samantha. Care to join me?" he asked when I came down.

"Sure" I said and sat down next to him.

We were silent for a few minutes, just watching some stupid show, but then he turned off the TV and turned to me.

"So, Sophia doesn't let anyone else put her to bed?" he asked.

"Nope, only me and my parents are allowed to"

"You're a really good sister. You really show her love, you know?"

"That's cause I love her" I said in a duh tone.

"Almost all sisters love each other, but you have a special way of showing it"

"What do you expect? I waited for her, for thirteen years"

"Thirteen years? That's a pretty long time. Tell me a little about you"

"I'm not that interesting. I'm pretty boring, actually"

"Don't be a pussy and just tell me a little about you"

"Demi doesn't approve of that language, Wilmer. You should know" I laughed.

"Sam, stop it. Just tell me about yourself"

"Well, I'm Samantha or Sam Johnson. My parents are William and Dana Johnson. I'm fifteen years old and until two years ago I was an only child. When Sophia was born, I was very happy. I go to school and miss Lovato, or Demi, is my English teacher. I ran into her in the park one day, and Sophia and Sierra liked each other. The next day, I had to stay after class and I mentions to miss Lovato that my mom wanted to meet her, not expecting anything to happen. That evening, she was at our dinner table. She and my mom became really good friends and so did Sophia and Sierra. My parent had to go on a business trip and didn't know where we could stay, since till now I was an only child and I could stay with one of my friends, but with Sophia I couldn't do that, so we came here. See? Nothing interesting" I said.

"And did you like that?"

"Did I like what?"

"Coming here?"

"Not even one bit. I got so mad at my mom. I really didn't want to come, but I had to. We came here on Friday and I was kinda rude to Demi, but yesterday evening I stared feeling better about being here. I mean, she's a great person and she's really nice. It's not so bad, it'll just be weird when we go back to school and she'll be my teacher again"

"You mean tomorrow?"

"No, we have vacation for two weeks now. That was one of the reasons I was mad. I didn't wanna spent my vacation in my teachers home, but I don't think it'll be that bad after all. I really like her"

"Yeah, she's an amazing person" he said.
I smiled at this. I just knew it. He still loves her.

"So, tell me about you" I said.

"Well, I've lived a much longer life then you. Where do you want me to start?"

"Your divorce with Demi"

"That was only two month ago"

"I know. I wanna know what you've been up to, since then. How are you dealing with the divorce? Dating anyone?"

"What are you? A therapist?" He laughed.

"Just tell me"

"You know our whole marriage story already?"

"Yep"

"She told you?"

"Yeah, she did. Now tell me. How did you deal with the divorce and Demi moving away?"

"It was hard. It was very hard. We'd been together for a long time and it was hard to see her go, especially since we now had Sierra. I was so broken when she left, I didn't leave the house for a week. That's when a few of my friends told me that I had to get myself together and can't keep living like this"

"You divorced her, cause she was so sad about the miscarriages, right?"

"Yeah. I mean, I got her. I really did. I was very sad about it, too. We'd both dreamed of having a big family and every time she got pregnant, something happened to the baby. It was really hard. But when she got into her sadness it was very hard to get her out. She wasn't herself. She would get mad over nothing, she would cry a lot, seeing her smile was very rare. It was hard to see her like that and it was hard to live like that. It was hard to see her go too, though. It really broke my heart, when she left"

"Are you dating anyone?"

"No"

"Why don't you ask her out?"

"What?"

"Come on, you still love her. Why not ask her out? Maybe you can get back together"

"And who says she'll want to?"

"So you just admitted that you still love her?" I smirked.

"Yeah, of course I do. We'd been together for a long time. We went through thick and thin together. It wasn't like we had a huge fight, when we broke up. It was hard for me to even suggest divorcing her, but I just couldn't live like that anymore. She had to get herself together"

"And now she did. She's doing great. I didn't even expect anything close to what had happened to her, when she told me. She really got herself together and she's an amazing person. Don't you see it now? Don't you see it in the way she acts? She's doing great! I think you can make it work. It'll be good for Sierra, too. It's good to have your parents together, happily married. Not being divorced, only seeing you dad once in two weeks. Why don't you just ask her?"

"Who says she wants me back?"

"She still loves you"

"How do you know?"

"I talked to her"

"She told you?"

"Yep"

"I can't just ask her out again"

"You know what? We have vacation now, so she doesn't have to work. If you stay here for, let's say, a week, instead of leaving tomorrow, I'll help you arrange a perfect second first date and I'll babysit the girls. What do you think?"

"I like the idea. I think I can do that, but she'll be suspicious if I, all of a sudden, stay"

"Just tell her that you can take off of work a little and want to spent more time with her and Sierra. I'm sure she won't mind"

"Who won't mind what?" Demi asked, coming into the living room.

"What do you people have with butting into everyone's conversations? You scared the shit out of me, again" I laughed.

Wilmer turned red, obviously hoping Demi didn't hear the whole conversation.
