Hades Daughter

Chapter Six: Percy

   After Dinner, we had a campfire. As usual, there was a sing-a-long. After as Rachel Elizabeth Dare was going to bed, she fell over. Two sons of Hermes rushed out to catch her and get her stool. Green smoke curled around her and she spoke a prophecy.
"Goddess of nightmares, cast alone
His plan will not work, since she's away from home
Betrayed by the one, he cared for the most
Will they be, the one to be lost
A single choice they have to make
Will they see Othrys remake"
   She collapses. The green smoke went away. Everyone started to whisper and look at Melonie. She was about to leave until Chiron said, "A quest! This Prophecy means something. We must have a quest!"
   "Who will go on the quest?" Nico asks. I didn't even notice that he was there.
   "Melione." He points to Melione.
   "Yes?" she says.
   "Will you go on this quest?" He asks. Everybody starts to yell.
   "She just got here!" Someone yells.
   "Let Claris go!" Another person yells.
   "Yes! Claris can go!" Charles shouts. His only saying that because Charles is carries is his sister.
   "SILENCE!" Chiron yells. "Melione shall go on the quest if she wishes"
   Melione looks at me, then Annabeth and then Nico. "I accept." She says.
   What is she thinking? She just got here, and she's not a goddess anymore. She could get hurt badly. She could die! And what does the prophecy mean? Either way, she will die.
   "You're welcome to bring two people you admire or you wish to..." Chiron says with a soft tone.
   "I choose Annabeth, Nico and Percy." She says pointing to me, why is Annabeth looking at her discussed.
   "Three people? If four people go on a quest, three come back. It happened a few years back" Chiron says, I knew what he was talking about. I look over to Nico, he lost his sister to that quest. His face was going red, I can't imagine how his feeling, he blamed me for Bianca's death.
   "I'm sure the fates will be with us. After all, they are my cousins." She said. Hmm, I never thought about it that way. I guess she's related to of all the gods.
   "Well then it is settled Annabeth, Nico and Percy will go on a quest with Melonie. May faith guide you to your goal?"
   As I begin to walk away I hear a familiar voice "Hey salty wait up, is it alright if you show me around?" Melione says with a smile
   "Well uh we-- sure why not..." I say hesitantly "It will have to be quick, seeing that it will be curfew soon"
   It falls quiet and so I try to spark a conversation "So um what do you normally do in the underworld?" I ask
   "What do you think I do..?" Melione utters while looking down at the ground
   "Play with barbie dolls secretly" I replied while chuckling
   "Oh shut up" She laughs punching me gently
   We suddenly come to a stop where the lake is. "Isn't the water beautiful?" she says as her eyes sparkle like crystals
   "Nah no big deal it's just water..." I declaimed while staring down at the Cambridge blue water.
   "Sooooo if it's just water you wouldn't mind me pushing you in the water"
   As I was about to speak she pushes me right into the water she begins to laugh. "Oh you find that funny aye?" I being to make my way up to where we were standing.
   "Maybe that was a bad idea let's hope you don't smell like a wet dog...." Melione says while going off track. A wet dog? Is that another nickname if I did get wet "Okay, how are you not wet if you are using something you need to tell me?"
   I start bursting out laughing. "That's a shame your evil little scheme didn't work" I utter trying to rub it in into her face.
   "Is that a bet with Hades daughter? "Melione says while giggling I rushed my fingers through my hair and I turn around.
   "I guess so" I utter while smiling. "In case you didn't know, I'm the son of Poseidon."
   "Son of Poseidon?" Melione says, looking back at the water. She hesitates before continuing. "I've never met a son of Poseidon alive."
   "Alive?" I say laughing nervously. "You mean that you've met dead sons of Poseidon?"
   "Yeah." She says.
   "Have you heard any stories about me though?" I ask, as we walk around.
   "Not about you, but I remember one time, my father told me that a son of Poseidon was locked up in the jails. I didn't remember but then about 3 hours later, his army was destroyed because the son of Poseidon jumped into the river Styx." She says. "And that this same son of Poseidon had taken Zeus's lightning bolt. But it wasn't really him cause it was some guy named –"
   "Luke. Yeah. Moving on."
   "I still don't get how you came out of the water dry." She says.
    "I just can. After my dad claimed me, I just could." I say. "Let's finish the tour, shall we?"
   "Lets."
