Chapter 19 - Change of Heart, Moment of Weakness

Lilith's POV -

"Are you letting the others know?" I asked as we were running to the South border. 

Me and Demitrius went to release our stress at the lake, we basically threw rocks into water until we were interrupted by the Alpha mind linking Dem about another rogue attack. This is proving to be much more serious than we initially panned out. 

"I tried to get through to them but their mind link is shut off, probably sleeping" He replied running. " I'll try too then" I said and refocused back on the track to the border. 

Twins, you better fucking wake up because I'm not beating ass' on my own. 

No reply. 

Why on earth are they so hard to wake up? Jesus christ. 

We got to the location and I was taken aback, these wolves actually knew how to fight. They didn't look like the usual small, brown runts. They seem strong, some seemed to be of high rank even. "Do you think we need to shift?" I asked glancing at Demitrius as we onlooked the fight. 

"Hopefully not, but if needed then yes" Dem ran into the fight ring and I followed. The reason why we try not to shift into our wolves is because it's easy to then point us out, our wolves are beautiful and majestic. It would be easy to find us an attack us, we may be hard wolves to beat but we're not invincible. 

I ran at a wolf that was biting down on one of Alexander's pack members, I jumped on it's back and ripped it away trying hard to make sure that I didn't injure the other wolf. I threw the wolf away from myself and stood up, I crouched down ready to fight. Wolves were running at me and Demitirus left, right and centre and I couldn't deny I was getting a little tired. 

"Lil, try to make them disperse so they can't rely on each other's support" I nodded my head and ran in a direction where I knew only a few would follow. Boy was I fucking wrong. I locked eyes with one wolf and smirked, I started running at him until I tumbled to the ground with a heavy weight on top of me. A pair of red eyes were staring into mine, an insane wolf. I've never been in such proximity with a wolf that has lost it's human side, most likely due to the loss of a mate. 

A wolf becomes insane if they loose their human side, that may occur to a lot of different reasons but the typical one is due to the loss of a mate. I almost felt pity for the wolf until his yapping and snarling brought me out of the sympathetical mood. I was about to kick the wolf off myself until the wolf was gone. I sat up and was ready to thank Demitrius but the black wolf that was staring right back at me wasn't Demitrius. 

It was Alexander. 

 I nodded to him as a gesture of thanks and dusted myself off before I ran back to Demitirus and helped him finish off the last few wolves that still remained. 

"Wow, we missed a party" I looked at the source of the voice. 

"Don't sleep next time then" I replied stretching my muscles, that fight took a little bit of energy from me. 

"Who the fuck let you fight?" Alexander was in front of my face, he was raging. He was absolutely fucking raging. " Myself" Demitrius replied stepping next to me incase Alexander was going to lash out. " She could have gotten hurt, there was a wolf on top of her" I looked at him shocked and confused, but also angry. "Am I hurt? No" I checked myself over and nodded when I didn't even have a scratch. 

"Beyond the fucking point, you could have and I--" 

"Son?" Saved by the Alpha, jesus I never thought I would have said that phrase with the Alpha being so incompetent to run a pack. Alexander looked at me deeply, his eyes softened a bit before he looked behind me to look at his dad. "Yeah?" He looked at me one last time before he walked away to his dad. 

"What the fuck has happened? I slept for two hours and there is a rogue attack and shower has had a change of heart" Maximus yawned. 

"I would like to explain what has happened to you, but I don't think I can"

"I'm so fucking tired" I said yawning as I walked into the kitchen in the morning, Alexander's behaviour at the border had given me a sleepless night. " You look tired" Caius replied and I threw a pancake at him. "Guess what" I replied to him. 

"What?" He leaned forward and tossed me the pancake back. 

"I was going to let you drive my car... but you can get fucked now" I smiled at him as I ate my breakfast. " I take that back, you look gorgeous" I shook my head. 

"Damage has been done now I'm afraid, Caspian you can drive my car" I glanced at the other twin who was watching the situation with amusement. Caspian laughed and waited for me to join him, when I didn't his laughter died down until all was left was a disbelieved Caspian. "Wait, are you actually serious?" I nodded my head, a yawn followed straight after. 

"I'm too tired today to drive" everyone snapped their heads towards me, everyone was in total disbelief. " Who are you and what have you done with my sister?" Demitrius was touching my forehead like an overprotective father to check if I had a fever. " A girl is allowed to be tired you know" I replied swatting his hand away. 

"A girl is very tired to be giving her Bentley to Caspian" Vivian's eyes were wide with shock, I was giving my car to someone who had the mind of a thirteen-year-old. Even I'm questioning my decision. 

"Well unfortunately for all of you, we have to set off now and we don't really have time to question Lilith's decision" Caspian jumped up and grabbed my car keys. 

"Let's go on an adventure"
