I woke up and found myself on a plane.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"We're heading back to Cygnus Keep," Gabriel told me.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked.

"I figured you could use the sleep," Damien replied.

We landed in New York around three in the morning and made it back to Blackfell at about five in the morning.

"I feel like partying this evening, anyone care to join me?" Stefan asked.

"Stefan, partying with you involves dancing alone while you sit at a table, surrounded by alcohol and women," Starlene told him. It didn't surprise me that Stefan was a womanizer. He had the attitude for it. I just wondered if there was a girl out there who could tame his heart.

"So that's a no then, that's fine Star," Stefan stated.

"I'll go," Alexandra declared.

"If Lex is going, then I'll go too," Sorina stayed, "Someone has to watch out for Lex while you attempt to get yourself drunk."

Stefan rolled his eyes and walked away.

Starlene began dragging Calder away and I saw a smile on her face. Judging by how dark her eyes were, I wouldn't be surprised if the two of them showed up to breakfast tomorrow, each sporting a bite mark on their neck.

I turned to Damien and stood on my toes to kiss his lips. He smiled and scooped me up in his arms, carrying me off towards his...no, our room.

The next day, I woke up to find Damien placing a tray on the night stand

The next day, I woke up to find Damien placing a tray on the night stand. On the tray was a bowl of fresh strawberries, a plate with a slice of toasted and buttered rye bread on it, and a tall glass of orange juice. These were the things I usually ate for breakfast and the fact that Damien had prepared a tray with those items for me meant that he paid attention to me and cared. It made me smile.

"You brought me breakfast in bed," I stated, "What's the occasion?"

"My siblings and I are holding Court today and I'd like you to be there with me," Damien told me.

"I thought only Consorts were allowed in the throne room with their royal significant others," I replied, "I'm not a Consort."

"What makes you think you can't call yourself my Consort?" Damien asked.
