Chris stood in the archway of the room Mackie's party was being held in as he scanned the people in attendance in search of his ex fiancée. It didn't take long for him to spot Tom and Phoenix standing in the corner of the room, talking to Sebastian. At the sight of the pair standing with barely any space between each other, Chris frowned. Phoenix's arm was wrapped loosely around Tom's neck as his hand rested on her hip.
Chris stood in the same spot for a few minutes, watching as Tom and Phoenix went back and forth with Sebastian. He noticed that each time Phoenix spoke, Tom looked over at her in awe as if she were the only person in the room; and when Tom spoke, Phoenix's face lit up in admiration and she couldn't contain the smile that covered her features. Even with a slight jealousy looming, Chris couldn't help but to smile each time Phoenix did. She was the most beautiful woman on the planet to him and nothing she did would ever change that.
"You got this." Chris mumbled to himself before marching through the crowd of people in order to get to where his ex was standing.
Because Tom and Phoenix were gazing into each other's eyes as if they were the only people in the world, they didn't even notice Chris walking toward them until Sebastian cleared his throat.
Phoenix looked up first and didn't flinch at the sight of her ex. She kept her arm wrapped around Tom, not caring in the least how Chris felt about it. Since he didn't seem to care that he was being spotted with Jenny for weeks on end, Phoenix didn't think she had to drop her hold on Tom just to avoid making him uncomfortable.
It wasn't as if she was trying to make Chris jealous as she and Tom had been standing in the very same position talking to Sebastian for nearly 10 minutes; she just simply didn't want to pretend she wasn't showing affection just because her ex showed up.
Tom kept his attention on Phoenix for an excess of 10 seconds after Sebastian cleared his throat before following her eye line to Chris, who was now standing in front of them.
"Can I talk to you please?" Chris asked quietly, not even bothering to greet Tom or Sebastian.
Phoenix glanced over at Tom and back at Chris with a neutral expression. "Umm..."
