Phoenix snapped her eyes open at the sound of a knock on the door. It felt like she had been in the doctor's office for hours signing a million consent forms and papers when in reality it had only been about 15 minutes and there were only 4 sheets for her to sign. Luckily for her, Chris filled out all of her forms by entering her information and medical history so all she had to do was finish it off with her signature at the bottom.

"Got your blood sample where it needed to be." Chris's doctor friend spoke with a smile after reentering the room. "We have an in house lab here so it shouldn't take more than a few hours to run the tests tomorrow morning when the lab technicians come in but do you mind if I ask a few questions to see if I can figure out what's going on?"

"I don't mind." She assured.

"Great!" Dylan replied. "I don't have all of your medical history here since you're not my patient but according to the papers Chris filled out, you're a pretty healthy young lady that just so happens to be allergic to green peppers."

"Very important to know." Chris mumbled under his breath, earning a glare from Phoenix.

"When was your last menstrual cycle Miss Benali?"

"Uhh..." Phoenix scratched her head. She had normally been good about keeping track of her periods but she could only account that to consistently taking birth control, which she hadn't done in a while now. "I'm not sure."

"Do you remember when the cycle before your last was?"

"Early August. I think the 4th or something." Chris answered for her. He remembered asking Phoenix months ago, after their pregnancy scare, if she had gotten her period in to which she replied she got it when she was in London with Tom. "Right?"

"Yes actually." Phoenix responded, amazed that her ex fiancé recalled her menstrual cycle without a hitch.

"About 10 weeks ago then." The doctor spoke more to himself than the couple while jotting something down on his clipboard. "So you were due to get your next cycle September 1st. Were you menstruating?"

"Yes." Phoenix nodded.

"Your next period was due on the September 29th which you missed, is that correct?"

Phoenix nodded again.

"Well, this is an easy case! Based on your symptoms, I'd say you're experiencing some form of morning sickness which doesn't always occur in the morning. That or you just had some sensitivity to something you smelled at the restaurant and it upset your stomach. If my math is correct, you're just about 5 weeks pregnant." Dylan stated confidently. "Nausea and exhaustion are common and perfectly normal for this stage of pregnancy. Those cramps you were experiencing were just a sign that the embryo has implanted into the lining of your uterus so you have nothing to worry about. We still need to wait for the blood test just to be 100% sure but I think congratulations are in order!"

"Pregnant?!" Chris jumped up and his hands flew in the air as if his favorite football team had won the Super Bowl. He could hardly contain his excitement as he leaned over to kiss Phoenix, clapping his hands together immediately afterwards like an annoying seal.
