"CHRIS!" Phoenix called after cracking open the back door. The cold hit her instantaneously, forcing her to close the door immediately after catching her husband's attention.

Because it'd been snowing in Boston all weekend, Chris and Phoenix thought it was the perfect time to do Christmasy things with their 4 year old daughter.

They started their morning with breakfast in bed, Christmas tree shaped pancakes and fruit, while watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas. They then went on to make gingerbread cookies to go with the gingerbread house Chris brought home the day prior. Afterwards, Aria got the brilliant idea to build a 'snowgirl' in the backyard.

"Mommy's calling us Ari." Chris spoke while gently brushing the snow off his daughter's pink puffy coat. They had spent the last 20 minutes playing out in the snow while Phoenix watched from the window. Because she was now 7 months pregnant, she couldn't risk getting sick by being outside in freezing weather.

"Mommy!" Aria greeted the minute she and Chris entered their home.

It didn't take but a second for both Ghost and Dodger to run to the door to welcome the pair.

"Hi sweet girl." Phoenix smiled as Chris sat their daughter on the bench beside the door and removed her winter coat along with her gloves and snow boots.

"Daddy fell in the snow!"

"Shh! That was supposed to be a secret!" Chris joked while taking off his own coat, gloves and shoes. He then bent down to pet both dogs before making his way to his wife to give her a lingering kiss.

"My poor baby." Phoenix spoke while cuffing his face in her hands. She placed a kiss on his pink nose then another on his lips.

Chris closed his eyes and let out a breath as Phoenix's hands warmed up his freezing cold face. "I love you."

"I love you more." She responded instinctively before moving over to Aria, who was petting Ghost and Dodger simultaneously. "Let's go watch a Christmas movie, Ari."

"Grandma's Reindeer?" Aria asked with a hopeful expression in reference to her favorite Christmas movie, Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer.

"Of course." Chris answered, leading his daughter to the large sectional couch in the family room. Dodger followed behind while Ghost went to find the bone he had hidden in the laundry room.

By the time Phoenix made it to the couch, there was no room for her to sit next to Chris. With Dodger on the left side of her husband and Aria on the right, she was forced to sit elsewhere.

Chris watched as his wife's neutral expression turned into a frown and she took a seat on the opposite side of the couch, as far away from the trio as possible. She covered her body with a cashmere blanket, identical to the one Chris and Aria were sharing.

"Can mommy have cuddles too?" Chris asked his daughter.

She shook her head right away. "No! Mommy gets cuddles at night."

Chris couldn't help but to laugh at his observant and very astute daughter. She was hands down the funniest person he'd ever known. "You're right, mommy does get cuddles at night." He confirmed as he gently ran his fingers up and down Aria's back. Just like his wife, his daughter loved his back rubs.

Phoenix let out a tired sigh as she turned on her daughter's favorite Christmas movie. She was starting to feel a little neglected by Chris, through no fault of his own, and wondered how having a second child would affect their relationship. Aria demanded Chris's attention almost all the time and that left the couple with far too little alone time. She could only imagine how minuscule their time would be with 2 kids running around the house.

For the next twenty minutes, Chris watched the silly Christmas movie intently as Phoenix texted back and forth with Tom. He had been so into the movie that he didn't even notice that Aria had been silent the entire time - prompting him to look down at his chest to find her sleeping peacefully.

He then scanned the room for his wife, who'd been uncharacteristically quiet as well. He could tell by looking at her that she was both annoyed and in deep thought.

"Phoenix."

"Chris." She mocked without looking up from her phone.

"Come here."

Phoenix glanced up from her phone at Chris then to Aria and finally Dodger. She didn't utter a word, as she looked back down at the iPhone in her hand.

"Okay." Chris mumbled before gently lifting Aria off of his chest and placing her on the couch cushion beside him. He topped her tiny body with the cashmere throw blanket they shared and watched as she readjusted herself and fell back asleep within seconds. With Chris's absence from the couch, Dodger cuddled into Aria.

When Phoenix noticed her husband approaching, she placed her phone on the coffee table and lifted her own blanket.

"Hi." Chris wrapped his arms around his pregnant wife before placing a gentle kiss on her lips.

"Hi." Phoenix smiled.

"You just wanted a little attention from daddy." He spoke while stroking the side of her face.

"Your daughter doesn't like sharing."

"And neither does my wife."

"Touché."

"You know you're my best girl." Chris spoke quietly as he gently rubbed her belly.

"What if baby Chris doesn't like sharing either?" Phoenix asked, referring to their son that they decide to name after his father.

"If baby Chris anything like daddy, he won't be able to resist you." He offered a smile before planting a kiss on her forehead. "I love you Phoenix and no matter how many additions there are to our family, I'll ALWAYS make time for you. You're my wife. You're important to me and it's important that you and I spend time together. Like Ari said, mommy gets cuddles at night. EVERY night."

"Until your dick stops working." Phoenix joked quietly, glancing over at their daughter to make sure she was still sleeping.

"Until my dick stops working." Chris confirmed with a laugh. "God, what did I do to deserve you?"

"I ask myself the same question every night."

I hope you enjoyed this little special Christmas chapter. Merry Christmas and happy holidays! 🎄
