THE VOID

{The next morning}

((Hero wakes up, his head pounding. His mind running over the events of the night before. Josephine was interrupted before she could respond to him as Alice needed to leave. Him and Jo exchanged numbers and then she was gone))

Hero: "So I'm twenty one..what now?" ((He asks Alex as he walks into the kitchen))

Alex: "Whatever you want, but let's move on from that..Alice told me what you said to Jo" ((he responds, an awkward smile plays on his face))

Hero: "You know I say stupid shit when I'm drunk, I was just caught up in the moment" ((he replies with a shaky voice))

Alex: "OH Josephine! I could kiss you and only you for the rest of my life! Please swear your lips to me and only me" ((Alex proclaims while laughing, mocking his very hungover friend))

Hero: "Serious over-exaggeration aside. Please don't be so loud man!" ((he responds while taking a seat and dropping his head on the kitchen counter)) "Do you think I scared her away?" ((he adds))

Alex: "She's probably already on a flight back home! ((He states with a mocking tone before adding)) "Honestly she seems really chill and anyway Alice said she didn't take it seriously since, you were so drunk and all"

((The room falls quiet but only for a second, Hero slowly raises his head off the counter and looks oddly at his friend))

Hero: "Alex?" ((he asks curiosity clear in his voice..his mind begins to spiral. Alex never gets up early and he's already made breakfast? Also he seems overly happy, he's almost giddy like a child at Christmas. This is odd..What did I miss? Why does he keep mentioning..oh my)) "YOU AND ALICE?"

Alex: ((looks up shock clear in his face as he watches hero look amused and regretful all at once. Amused like he's just solved a great mystery and regretful since he just screamed his head off while having a headache)) "She's cute and funny, so yeah we started talking last night and well haven't stopped really" ((he replies nonchalantly))

Hero: "How did I miss this?" ((He replies clearly baffled)) "As long as you don't do anything stupid then it's fine, I guess" ((his voice a little concerned for Alice))

Alex: "Well Sherlock, you missed it because you spent the whole night drooling over Josephine" ((he responds clearly offended))

Hero: "Firstly I never drool..and secondly well there is no secondly. I was very much in control of myself and the situation. The entire exchange was perfect, granted I slipped up at the last second but I can blame that on the alcohol" ((he says defensively before standing to leave. He grabs a bottle of water from the fridge and heads back to his room))

((10 AM, at Fork and Spoon a small cafe in London. Josephine takes a seat across from Alice))

Josephine: "I'm so hungry, what's good here?" ((She asks scanning the menu))

Alice: "Don't worry, I'll order for you" ((she replies taking Jo's menu and giving their order to the waiter)) "Is your head pounding? Mine fucking is" ((she asks closing her eyes))

Josephine: "Nope, we didn't drink that much. Come on!" ((She replies lightly teasing her friend)) "Not as much as our new friends anyway" ((she adds laughing))

Alice: "I think I somehow I drank more than all of them" ((she takes a gulp of her water)) "I haven't had a night out in months, my body really wasn't prepared"

((They both go quiet as they tuck into their breakfast, which consists of sausages, scrambled eggs, baked beans and hash browns))

Alice: "Okay, I feel much better now" ((she gags slightly before adding)) "I take that back, I wholeheartedly take that back"

Josephine: ((laughs at her friends misfortune)) "Maybe, we should go back home. So you can sleep it off?"

Alice: "Usually I would say something about how cocky you're being right now but yeah, please let's get out of here" ((she responds defeat clear in her voice, she pays for both herself and Jo before standing from the table))

((They decide to take a walk back to the flat as Alice is enjoying the fresh air))

Josephine: ((Drops onto the sofa finally arriving back home and begins flicking through the channels)) "Maybe I should call Hero"

Alice: "No, no... he should call you" ((she responds burying her head into the cushion))

Josephine: "Why? I think it's on me to call, after what he said. I mean it's nerve racking enough to call the next day let alone after saying something so, so" ((she stops for a moment trying to think of the word))

Alice: "Embarrassing? Cringy..a total line"

Josephine: "I regret telling you. He was drunk, he clearly didn't mean it. If he hadn't of said something like that, I know my dumbass would have" ((she says taking out her phone))

Alice: "Okay, I agree with you there!" ((she stands up and heads for her bedroom))

{{Hero's phone rings multiple times before going to voicemail}}

*beep*

Josephine: "Uhm hey, just calling to..well actually I'm not sure why exactly I'm calling. Guess I just wanted to say that your words last night, I didn't take them seriously so don't worry. We all says things when we're drunk, I mean this one time I told a guy that his hugs were so amazing that it made me want to hug him tight enough to suffoc" ((she freezes for a moment)) "Ignore that. I never said that. I need to go bye" ((she frantically hangs up the phone))

((Hero finally has the energy to climb out of head and take a shower. The scolding hot water burning away the pain caused by the drinking the night before))

Felix: "Hurry up man! I need to piss" ((he shouts from the other side of the bathroom door))

Hero: ((turns off the shower before, taking his towel and wrapping it around him. He opens the door to see Felix pacing back and forth)) "It's all yours" ((he says heading back to his room))

Felix: "Finally, I was this close to peeing in your sink" ((he responds running into the bathroom))

Hero: ((closes his bedroom door and falls back onto his bed. He grabs his phone from under the pillow)) "Shit, I missed her call" ((he presses down on the play button to listen to her message, he can't help but laugh as her words leave the speaker. After the message is finished he composes himself and decides to call her back))

Again another small chapter, I want to write this so badly because it's fun but also have no time..Not even sure anyone reads it but I like writing it xo
