                  {25th December - Christmas Day}

((Josephine is woken up by a loud pounding on her front door. She makes her way towards the intolerable noise, dishevelled and extremely confused. She doesn't think to look through the peephole and instead just opens the door))

Mel: "Finally we've been knocking for about 20 minutes" ((she moves past Josephine, enters the apartment and drops the bags she's holding to the floor))

Jack: ((smiles at Josephine before copying Mel's actions)) "I need a drink, that was a lot of stairs"

Josephine: "What the hell is going on?" ((She asks while closing the door and moving towards the bags))

Mel: "We came to hang out" ((she picks some of the bags back up and starts unpacking))

Josephine: "It's Christmas, shouldn't you be with your families?" ((She asks begging for some clarity on what is going on))

Jack: "Dad's an atheist, Christmas is all about businesses making money and all that crap. So don't celebrate it" ((he shrugs helping Mel with the bags))

Mel: "And my Dad is dead" ((she adds))

Josephine: ((freezes for a moment, thinking Mel can't possibly be finished)) "Wait Mel, you don't celebrate Christmas because your Dad is gone?" ((Her eyes full of sorrow))

Mel: "Mum's Jewish... Dad was Christian, we only ever celebrated for him but now he's gone it just feels odd" ((she takes a bottle of Tequila out of one of the bags)) "The first year, Hero begged me to join his family but it wouldn't have been right. So instead he called Jack and he came over and we spent the day, doing whatever we wanted"

Jack: "It's kind of our tradition now" ((he takes out his bottle of water and takes a sip)) "So, when Hero called us and said you would be alone. Light bulb moment happened and now we're here" ((he moves and wraps his arm over Jo's shoulder))

Josephine: "Hero, called you?" ((She asks and she can't help but fall for him even more))

Mel: "Yeah, he didn't understand why you didn't want to spend it at his however he knew he didn't want you to spend it alone. The moment I heard the first bit I got it" ((she hands a breakfast bar to Josephine)) "What do you want to do today?"

Josephine: "I mean I was going to spend it watching Christmas movies and eating junk. Ooh and wallowing in self pity" ((she laughs)) "I'm guessing, you guys don't want to do the movies thing huh?"

Jack: "There's a rule, newbies get to choose what we do for the day" ((he moves to empty more bags)) "It's the rule I made when Mel joined and we haven't really had to use it since" ((he takes out his grinch mask and puts it on))

Mel: ((grabs her one and does the same and then pulls out one for Josephine)) "That's my favourite Christmas movie" ((she hands it over)) "My dad was a huge Jim Carrey fan and I guess now I am too. We would wear these on Christmas Eve and play hide and seek" ((she shakes her head)) "Stupid I know but it was funny to us"

Josephine: ((puts on her mask)) "Wallow in self pity" ((she repeats this time in a grinch impression))

Jack: "Stare into the abyss" ((he joins her))

Mel: "Solve world hunger, tell no-one" ((she says laughing and they continue to recite the entire scene))

((Josephine puts down the breakfast bar and helps unpack all the bags, she then makes everyone some breakfast. She makes pancakes, what her Mum usually makes for her. They all sit around enjoying it while exchanging non christmas/christmas stories))
