THE VOID

ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝕥𝕨𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕪-𝕠𝕟𝕖

                           {The next morning}

((Josephine rolls over, rubbing her eyes. She feels the bed for Hero but yet again it's empty. Her heart sinks. Again, he's done this again. Did last night mean nothing to him? She can't keep doing this to herself. He already said he wasn't ready for anything. No, she has been understanding and patient, she's over it. She feels herself boiling with fury. She moves her eyes to the door, seeing a figure standing there))

Josephine: "Are you serious?" ((She jumps to her feet outraged))

Hero: "What?" ((He replies sheepishly))

Josephine: "The other few times, I looked over it" ((she begins pacing back and forth)) "I was understanding and that was obviously a mistake because now you think it's acceptable" ((she shoots him a death glare)) "After last night, I thought you would at least have the decency"

Hero: "Can you let me speak?" ((He asks jumping in trying to calm her))

Josephine: "Your words mean nothing, when your action speak louder" ((backs off as he moves towards her)) "You know what? Just get out" ((she waves her hands in anger))

Hero: "Are you done?" ((He asks his voice a little too monotone))

Josephine: ((stands there shocked)) "Am I done?" ((She asks before falling silent))

Hero: "I'll take that as a yes" ((he opens the door, walks out and closes it)) "Oh, since you're awake. Would you like some coffee?" ((He asks opening the door again, with a smug look))

Josephine: "Are you seriously trying to sell that you were just going to get a drink?" ((She shoots back in disbelief)) "Why are you dress then?" ((she tries to hold her ground, although it is very clearly slipping away))

Hero: "As much I'm proud of all this" ((he gestures to his body)) "I doubt Alice would want to see me naked first thing in the morning" ((he smirks before closing the door again))

Josephine: ((falls back onto the bed in defeat, annoyed at her clear overreaction)) "Why am I so insecure?" ((She asks herself, the memory of him rejecting her runs through her mind)) "Maybe because he's made me this way" ((she answers her own question and stands to her feet))

((She checks the time and sees, she has to be up to 5 minutes anyway. She heads for her bathroom to shower))

Hero: ((walks into the kitchen, yawning))

Alice: "Well, well" ((she nods her head smiling at Hero)) "Would you look at this? It seems he does know how to stay for breakfast"

Hero: "How are you up this early?" ((He takes a seat ignoring her dig))

Alice: "Easy" ((she takes a gulp of water)) "Haven't been to sleep yet" ((she laughs))

Hero: "You're insane" ((he responds grabbing the jug and pouring himself a glass of water))

Alice: "Mel and Jack got sick and crashed in my bed and Alex passed out on the sofa" ((she sighs a little)) "I didn't want to sleep on the floor, so I stayed up and well cleaned everything"

Hero: "Sounds like a fabulous start to the new year" ((he groans)) "Josephine should be in for breakfast soon" ((a smile instantly growing on his face))

Alice: "Such a pity" ((she looks disapprovingly)) "You finally stay long enough to converse, and it happens to be on a day she won't"
