THE VOID

ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕣𝕥𝕖𝕖𝕟

                            {The next morning}

Josephine: ((takes a seat on the sofa)) "I feel like the biggest idiot" ((she says looking up at Alice))

Alice: "I think we've found the too much wine mark" ((she jokes, sitting beside her)) "It could happen to anyone" ((she places her hand on Jo's back to sooth her))

Hero: ((walks over with a glass of water for Josephine)) "You should drink this, and get some rest" ((he adds kneeling down in front of her)) "Do you feel okay? How is the pain?" ((He asks with a tired voice))

Josephine: "You mean since you asked me, two seconds ago when we got up the stairs" ((she offers him a small smile)) "I'm fine, you heard the doctors. It looked worse than it was. Only 6 stitches that's not bad" ((she sighs a little)) "I have to call my manager"

Hero: "They weren't there. They didn't see how you looked" ((he shakes his head, trying to burn the image out of his mind)) "Your phone is on charge, you can use mine" ((he adds stopping Josephine from looking for hers and hands his over))

Josephine: ((smiles a little at his background but then begins to dial, her manager picks up straight away and Josephine explains everything and then hangs up passing the phone back to Hero)) "She will deal with everything" ((she takes a gulp of her water))

Alice: ((stands and moves towards the kitchen to clean it up)) "That is a lot of blood" ((she gags while saying it))

Hero: "I will clean it, I mean I already have dried blood all over me" ((he tries to smile but he's too tired))

Alice: "Okay, I will watch Josephine" ((she looks over at him)) "Thank you, for everything" ((she squeezes his arm lightly and then hands him the cloths and cleaner))

Josephine: ((tries to stand, stumbles a little but Alice catches her)) "I need to get out of these clothes, they are burning my flesh" ((tears fall out of her eyes)) "I don't know what that means, so don't expect an explanation" ((she lightly laughs at Alice))

((Alice helps Josephine to the bathroom, helping her shower. Josephine takes her time to scrub off all the blood on her neck. Alice helps her with her hair, making sure to be gentle and careful. She helps her into her night clothes and Josephine climbs into bed))

Alice: "I'm just going to check on Hero, okay? I'll be right back" ((her voice is soft and she leaves the room))

Hero: "Everything is clean. I managed to not leave any stains" ((he says while scrubbing his hands))

Alice: "You can use our shower, I mean you have spare clothes with you right?" ((She makes reference to the items Alex dropped off first thing this morning))

Hero: "That would be great! I feel like I need an acid shower" ((he jokes but there's no humour to his voice))

Alice: ((leaves him and heads for Jo's room, she sits on the chair near Jo's desk, she intertwines her fingers)) "I thank you, with all my heart. You have blessed my best friend with your healing hands" ((she closes her eyes for a moment, continuing to pray))

Hero: ((places his dirty clothes in the bag with Josephine's and places them in the bin. He pours himself a cup of coffee, knowing he won't be sleeping anytime soon)) "Alice? Alice?" ((He whispers entering Josephine's room))

Alice: ((her eyes opening)) "I feel asleep" ((her eyes dart over to Josephine and she relaxes)) "I will grab some coffee, I'm sure you need to go" ((she adds standing))
