THE VOID

                                 {Same Day}

((Hero and Josephine lay on her bed watching an episode of Made in Chelsea))

Josephine: "You secretly love this show, I can tell" ((she nudges Hero a little))

Hero: ((gives a straight face)) "Nope" ((he shakes his head)) "Nope, nope" ((he adds and Josephine laughs))

Josephine: "Lies" ((she winks)) "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me" ((she turns her attention back to the television))

Hero: ((swats her side but it's so delicate that she giggles a little)) "Ticklish?" ((He asks a devision smile covering his face))

Josephine: ((her eyes go wide but she pretends to be focused on the show)) "Not at all" ((she lies))

Hero: ((inches closer to her and begins tickling her side)) "You sure?" ((He asks as she wiggles under his touch, giggling uncontrollably))

Josephine: "Stop" ((she shouts while laughing)) "Okay" ((she can't form a sentence)) "Fine, maybe a little bit ticklish" ((she admits, trying to move away from him))

Hero: ((stops torturing her and moves away)) "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me" ((he says winking))

Josephine: "You're horrible" ((she moves further away from him before sticking her tongue out))

Hero: "Oh, so mature" ((he remarks, smiling))

Josephine: "Doesn't mean much coming from the guy, who just tried to tickle me to death" ((she fires back))

Hero: "Tickling someone to death, is very mature. Thank you very much" ((he crosses his arms over his chest))

Josephine: "Name, one adult who has murdered someone by tickling" ((she raised her eyebrow))

Hero: "Well, I don't know off the top of my head" ((he shifts a little)) "Name one child who has?"

Josephine: "Chris..Maxwell" ((she replies))

Hero: "Did you just make that up?" ((He asks smirking))

Josephine: "Yes, but it could be true" ((she covers her face with her hands)) "What are we even talking about?" ((She starts laughing and Hero joins in))

Hero: "The notorious murderer Chris Maxwell" ((his face becoming more serious)) "His tickle, fun but deadly"

Josephine: "Oh man" ((she fakes a scared face)) "Hope he doesn't live in London"

Hero: "Yeah, let's hope" ((he adds shrugging, wondering how they ended up talking about this))

((They continue to watch the series in silence, Hero huffing a few times and complaining it's all fake. After a few hours Josephine falls asleep, Hero turns the tv off and places the duvet over her. He takes a moment to take her in, feeling lucky he gets to see her like this. So peaceful, and gracious. He plants a small kiss on her forehead, an action he's become fond of. He then leaves and heads for home))

                              {New Years Eve}

((Josephine arrives back to a party at her apartment, hosted by Alice. There's a few people from Alice's work place and a few of her book club friends. Hero and his friends haven't arrived yet, Charlie and his girlfriend are also coming but are not there yet either))
