THE VOID

ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕣𝕥𝕪-𝕗𝕚𝕧𝕖

                                       {February 5th}

((Josephine arrives home, heading straight for her bedroom. Alice calls her name. For a moment Josephine wants to pretend she can't hear it. She tries to let go of all the doubts floating around in her head. Alice calls her name again, adding "we're all in here"))

Josephine: ((begins to move her feet and heads for the living room)) "Hey" ((she musters, her heart sinks when she sees that everyone except hero is there))

Alice: "How was work?" ((She asks as Josephine sits next to her))

Josephine: "It was actually-" ((before she can continue she is cut off by Mel))

Mel: "Stop it" ((she snaps, her tone vile))

Jack: "No" ((he responds dismissively)) "Carry on, Josephine. Don't let her interrupt you" ((he adds smiling))

Josephine: ((is hesitant to talk)) "Well-" ((she is cut off again))

Jack: "You're so fucking rude" ((he says to Mel, a little too loudly. His eyes dart to Josephine and he mouths sorry))

Mel: "So when I interrupt there's a problem, but when you do it, it's okay?" ((She asks annoyed))

Alice: ((whispers in Jo's ear)) "They've been arguing since they arrived" ((her eyes move to them but she continues noticing they haven't heard her)) "Sorry to drag you in here but I couldn't take it alone" ((she bites the inside of her cheek))

Josephine: "Alex is here" ((she whispers back))

Alice: ((looks over at Alex)) "He's asleep" ((she adds trying to hold in an anxious laugh))

Josephine: ((grabs Alice's hand and squeezes it)) "Can you both stop" ((she says loudly))

Alex: ((Jo's voice waking him)) "When did you get here?" ((He asks with a sweet smile, it disappears quickly when he feels the tension in the room))

Mel: "Excuse me?" ((She asks raising an eyebrow))

Josephine: "The arguing" ((she huffs)) "We're sick of it" ((she adds))

Jack: "Don't think you should speak for the whole group" ((he adds a little annoyed))

Alice: "She can speak for me" ((she throws in and Alex adds a me too))

Mel: "What's it got to do with any of you's" ((she rolls her eyes))

Alex: "Look you can argue all you want" ((he adds calmly)) "Just stop doing it around us" ((he shrugs))

Josephine: "Why are you arguing in the first place? What is there to argue about?" ((She ask she's been wanting to for the past few days))

Jack: "It's nothing" ((he snaps, before standing and charging out the room))

Mel: ((watches him leave, once he's out of view. She takes a small breathe and her cheeks are covered with tears))

Alice: "Err Alex, go check on Jack" ((she says trying to get rid of him))

Alex: ((stands to leave))

Mel: ((grabs his arm)) "Don't tell" ((she can't finish her sentence but Alex nods knowing what she's saying))

((As he leaves Alice and Jo both jump up and move over to Mel. They sit on either side of her, they share a look before Jo wraps her arm around Mel. They sit in silence for a while, only Mel's quiet sobs can be heard))
