THE VOID

((Charlie sits drinking his coffee, waiting for Josephine. He can't help but notice how anxious she's been lately. Even though it seems to have had a wonderful affect on her delivery of certain scenes. He is still worried, but she doesn't seem to want to share and he doesn't want to press the issue))

Charlie: "I got you a green tea, they've run out of peppermint" ((he smiles at her as she joins him))

Josephine: ((doesn't seem to hear him, and instead checks her phone again)) "How could you?" ((She finally responds mockingly, pulling herself out of her daze))

Charlie: "I've got some left over gum if you want to add that?" ((He adds laughing))

Josephine: "Is it weird that I'm tempted to try that?" ((She asks smiling))

Charlie: ((grins, this is first time she's smiled in a while. He takes it as an accomplishment)) "That I would like to see" ((he tries to coax her))

Josephine: ((panics and checks her phone again)) "Maybe another time" ((she replies, her smile from earlier nowhere to be seen))

Charlie: ((sighs slightly)) "Is everything okay?" ((He asks, hoping to not intrude))

Josephine: ((takes her eyes of her phone and looks up at him. She goes to speak but immediately pulls back)) "Yeah, everything's fine" ((she lies, her face telling a completely different story))

Charlie: "Okay" ((he responds)) "If you ever need to talk, you know I'm here right?" ((He adds, wishing he could do more))

Josephine: ((his words hitting her harder than she ever felt they could, her lips tremble and she holds back this sudden need to cry)) "I know" ((she mutters, she distracts herself by drinking some of her tea)) "Thank you" ((she whispers before falling silent))

((Charlie feels defeated but decides to keep her spirits up by tell her an embarrassing story))

((Hero impatiently taps the steering wheel, as the car sits in traffic. They haven't moved in an hour, he agreed to take over the driving at the last service stop. Felix wasn't impressed as he was kicked to the back))

Felix: "We should be moving soon, I'm sure of it" ((he says hoping to break the thick cloud of tension in the car))

Alex: ((sighs, that's the fifth time Felix has said that)) "Change the song" ((he mutters to Jack))

Jack: "I like this song" ((he shrugs))

Alex: "Well I hate it" ((he moves forward to change it))

Jack: "Leave it alone" ((he shouts, pushing Alex back and away from the radio))

Alex: ((continues to push forwards)) "You've controlled the song choices for long enough" ((he adds))

Felix: "I like this song" ((he adds hoping to stop the fighting))

Jack: "See, that's two against one" ((he adds, still fight with Alex))

Alex: "Felix stay out of this" ((he shouts before giving up and sitting back)) "I hate you" ((he shouts before moving back to the radio now that Jack is distracted))

Felix: ((spots it and pulls him back)) "Stop it" ((he adds))

Jack: ((laughs as Alex is now fighting with Felix)) "Just give up already" ((he huffs))
