「 chapter 2 」
_______________

After drifting in and out of consciousness for who knows how long, my eyes slowly open for good. I was looking at an old grey ceiling, laying on something cushioned, it was daylight.

My head immediately feel my head throb, I bring my right hand up to my forehead as I sit up, scanning my surroundings. I'm on a bed, still fully clothed - thank god - the only other thing in the room with me is a chair in the corner. A large window was outside the room, it looks like I'm in a prison cell, but the door is open.

A prison cell? Where the hell am I?

I rack my brain for any memories from earlier, realising I didn't come here on my own. I don't remember stepping foot in this place, ever.

The two men I ran into in the woods appear in my mind. What were their names? Rick and Daryl?

Was it them? Did they bring me here?

I pat the pocket of my jeans quickly, panicking when my knife is no where to be found. Neither is my gun, or my bag, or anything.

It has to be them. They chased me, they killed those infected.

I slide my feet off the bed to stand up, ready to get the fuck out of here before anyone sees me. I'm not safe.

I go to stand up, immediately being pulled by my right back to the bed. I look down in confusion after feeling something dig into my skin, the light sound of jingling filling the room.

They handcuffed me to the bed.

"Shit, no." I mutter, sitting back down to examine the cuffs, also noticing my sleeve is rolled up. The bite, it's out for the world to see. You can't miss it. It's scabby with dry blood and the scarring is already showing.

They know. They're gonna kill me.

I can't believe this is happening. I shove the sleeve back down my arm, then I pull at the metal again, more noise rattles through the air. Shit, it's loud. But I have no choice.

I go back to pulling on the cuffs with all my effort, being rewarded with nothing but red, irritated skin on my wrist.
"Come on... Please, come on." I mumble in frustration, my headache was only beginning to grow worse the more I stress.

My head shoots up when I see a someone walk in from of the corner of my eye. It was one of the men from before. Daryl.

We stare at each other, both waiting for someone to say something. He has the most emotionless face I've ever seen, impossible to read.
