「 chapter 16 」
_______________

After trampling for a few minutes in the bush, walking up and down hills and avoiding infected, we wander up the last hill with our stuff, eager to know what Carol wanted to show us.

"Nearly there." She smiles happily at us.

I peer over the edge of the road once we're at the top, we see Tyrese walk out of a small, dusty old shack holding something in his arms, looks like a baby.

First, I'm confused as to why he would have a baby. We already had one in our group.
Then I realise it's Judith.

I hear Rick make a small whimper before he drops all of his stuff and dashes up the road towards them.

I run after him quickly, the group following close behind me.

My feet ache as I sprinted across the rocky dirt road, the sweat and wet blood on my face cooling me down as the wind slapped me in the face.

"Oh my god." I exhale in relief when I get close enough to confirm it, she was alive. She wasn't taken from us, she wasn't eaten, she's not hurt, she's alive and here with us.

Rick takes her from Tyrese immediately and holds her gently, kissing her head and stoking her thin hair.

Then I see Sasha break down into tears and she wraps her arms around Tyrese, she thought he was dead too, I can't imagine losing a sibling.

Rick turns to me with Judith and smiles, "She's alive." I grin, stroking her head softly as she glared around in confusion. Poor thing hasn't got a clue what this worlds like.

I'm left alone with Judith for a few seconds when Rick takes a moment to thank Tyrese. All this time, she was alive and we had no idea.

It was like eveything was turning out as planned for once, everyone we thought was dead is actually alive and we're all still here standing.

I couldn't help but wonder where Beth is, though.

The day continues on as the smell of smoke doesn't really stop roaming the air around us, I can't seem to get Terminus off my mind, not after what happened.
I get a weird feeling where I'm paranoid of everything, it's happened before and everything goes to shit. I don't want it to happen now, we're all so exhausted and stressed out.

We managed to find a spot to sleep for the night before darkness hit, it took a whole day of walking up and down roads, through the forest and across dirt roads.
