「 chapter 22 」
_______________

The last 2 days has been nothing but walking. We're hungry, low on water and exhausted, I've convinced myself that I'm going to pass out soon. We can't stop though, there is no where to stop.

We have no where to stay and it was late afternoon, the sunset wasn't that pretty, the grey clouds blocked out anything in the sky. At least at wasn't that hot anymore, the temperature seemed to drop as the sun disappeared, obviously.

I couldn't help but feel as if the sun was mocking us as it went down, like it was laughing at us for not having a place to stay, having no water or food. I wish I could punch it.

Staring ahead at the long road, it felt like we were never going to find somewhere to stay again, but I swear I could see some water bottles sitting in the middle of the road up ahead. Either that or I'm severely exhausted, it wouldn't surprise me.

I sigh, "Okay, I'm either seeing things or there's a bunch of water bottles up ahead on the road." I say, re-adjusting Judith in my hands.

Rick lifts his head towards me before looking ahead of us, he stares for a second before jogging off towards them, the group follows.

"I guess I'm not seeing things then."

I look to Rick, he stares down at the bottles, studying carefully and then looks up, scanning our surroundings as if he was looking for something.

I can't help but quickly follow his actions.

I look back down at the water, not only did my throat feel like a desert, but I notice a slip of paper underneath the stack. I crouch down carefully with Judith and slide it out from underneath, stand back up and unfold it.

"What is it?" Michonne questions with a deadly tone.

"From a friend..." I read out loud from the torn paper. The group was dead silent, Rick takes the paper from me immediately and looks at it himself.

"Okay, who?" I ask in confusion. Why would someone leave this here? Who would want to help us?

"I doubt these are from a 'friend'." Rick tells me.

"Who do you think left it all here?" I ask, still confused.

"I don't know." Rick answers, also with a deadly tone.

A creepy vibe clearly blankets the group and everyone scans the road and forest cautiously, raising their weapons, no longer off guard.
