The rest of the summer I've been at the Burrow, enjoying the time I have with Ron and Hermione. I've also been sending daily owls with Draco. We would have long conversations and I could feel his excitement for seeing me whilst reading his letters.

Soon came the day we all went out to Diagon Alley for school shopping. It was going to be Ginny's first year at Hogwarts so Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were feeling very excited.

In Draco's latest letter he had told me the date, time, and place of where he would be able to meet me in Diagon Alley.

Ten minutes to said time, I told Ron and Hermione I'd be meeting up with Draco in Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour.

I arrived at the parlour a bit early, searching  the shop for a certain blond male.

"Hello there Harry." Came Draco Malfoy's voice from behind.

I jumped and yelped. "Draco!"

He guffawed with laughter.

"You can't just sneak up on me.." I began.

"I just did though, didn't I." He chuckled, wiping away a fake tear.

I shook my head, barely containing a grin.

"Shall we get some ice cream?" I nudged my head in the direction of the line.

"Yes! I'm so hungry--mind you." Draco began excitedly, staring at the different ice cream flavors with a look of longing.

I chuckled and went to the line up, Draco soon coming behind me.

"Have you gotten your school supplies?" I asked.

"Yes, my mother and I are to leave soon. I've just left her though, told her I'd be meeting up with a friend." Said Draco quickly.

I nodded with understanding.

"So, second year." I started slowly.

"I'm very excited." Draco said, bouncing on the balls of his feet.

"So am I." I watched him.

"You know, I never thought we'd ever manage this." Draco said quietly after a while.

"Manage what?" I asked him curiously, although deep down I already knew what his next words were going to be.

"Us. Being friends." Draco said quietly, rather rushed.

"Me too, I always thought I'd dislike you for the rest of my life." I chuckled. Although it was only a couple months of the two boys' dislike session, it had felt like years to Harry.

I looked at Draco and saw him give me a small grin. I grinned back as we reached the front of the line.

We placed our orders and got our ice cream, finding an empty table outside to sit  at.

Time flew by, I'm not really sure how much time had passed. But by then Mrs. Weasley had come almost at a run towards me, looking worried.

Draco paused what he was saying. "Harry! I've been so worried." Mrs. Weasley began.

"No need to be worried Mrs. Weasley, I was just talking to Draco Malfoy." I said with a reassuring smile.

She straightened her back stiffly, "a Malfoy you say?" Mrs. Weasley looked curiously at the both of us.

I could see Draco shrinking from the corner of my eye.

"Well come on then Harry, we don't have all day and we must  be heading home." Mrs. Weasley grabbed my hand and hoisted me out of my seat. Rushing me away from the ice cream parlor, I looked behind me to see Draco looking flustered.

"What was that?" I asked, trying my best to sound natural.

Mrs. Weasley stopped pulling me and faced me, placing her hands on my shoulders and bent down, becoming eye level with me.

"That was the son of Lucius Malfoy." Mrs. Weasley said sternly.

"So?" I asked stubbornly, I don't see what's wrong with that.

"Lucius Malfoy is a death eater  Harry." Mrs. Weasley said, a little exasperated.

"What are death eaters." I asked, evidentally confused.

"They are the wizards that serve You-Know-Who." Mrs. Weasley explained briskly.

I thought about that new piece of information for a bit. "Even though I don't know who this Lucius is, Draco is not like him." I said confidently.

Mrs. Weasley sighed, "whatever you say Harry dear." She led me back into the Ford Anglia, and Mr. Weasley drove us home with non stop talk about his passion for muggles.
