Ryder's POV
It's been a month and she still hasn't woken up yet. I visited everyday like I said. I've hardly slept at all. If I do, nightmares will come.
Slate has been crying for his sister. He would only sleep with her pillow. To have the scent in his mind. Maybe it's because he wouldn't get any nightmares, I don't know.
"Hey Amethyst. It's me again. You can't believe what Felix did. You know how he's more of a calm type. Well, he had punched someone in your school for the first time. Shocking, right? Please wake up, we're breaking apart without you." I said. "Even me. I'm not sleeping properly because nightmares will come and haunt me. Please, please, please wake up. I love you. Please."
I grabbed her hand and held it. I stroked it gently. Her skin is so soft. At first, when I held her hand I thought it was going to break. That's how delicate I thought she was.
As I gently stroked her hand with my thumb, I felt it twitch. My eyes widened when it twitched again. I got out of my seat and got a doctor.
I stood in the back of the room as she slowly opened her eyes.
"Amethyst. Can you hear me?" The doctor asked as she nodded her head. "Do you remember anything before you slipped into a coma?" She nodded her head.
"What was it?" He asked.
"I was...crying...over...the heartbreak...I was...going...through. I didn't realise...my surroundings...and got...ran over...by a car." She croaked out as I clenched my shirt where my heart was.
"That's good. Now look to the right for me." He brought out a light as he looked at her eyes. "Look to the left now."
"Can you feel your fingers when I pinch you?" He pinched each of her fingers in both hands. She nodded her head. "What about your toes?" He did the same as she nodded her head. "What about when I touch your legs? Can you feel anything?" She nodded her head and he nodded his head.
He wrote it on a clipboard. He checked the vitals and her heart rate. Then he placed the clipboard back on the footrest of the bed.
"Everything's fine. She just needs some rest. We would need to keep her in for another week before she can go home." He told me as I thanked him.
He went out as I sat on the chair next to the bed.
"How are you feeling?" I asked her.
"Like I've been hit by a car." She said as I forced out a chuckle.
"Look, about the day you got into a crash. I...didn't mean it. I didn't mean to reject you. I'm sorry. If I said I like you as well then you wouldn't be in this mess in the first place." I said.
She sat up and made space for me. She patted the seat next to me as I sat down on the bed next to her.
"I forgive you. I heard what you guys were saying. I wanted to wake up so badly but had no energy. Now, what's this talk about Felix punching someone. That isn't like him." She said as I chuckled.
"A new student came into your school. He heard about your state and made fun of you. Saying how you're going to die and that and how we should just take off the life support instead of wasting our time. Of course he would get mad at that. Anyone would. I would've beaten him until he was on the brink of death." I said.
She smiled before entwining our fingers together. She squeezed it.
"Dork." I said as she pouted.
She was about to say something else when I put a finger on her lips to shush her then said, "my dork."
She blushed and buried her head in my arm. I chuckled as I stroked her hair with my free hand.
"What are we now? I mean, we confessed to each other that we liked each other. But what does it make us?" She asked.
"Boyfriend and girlfriend. I've waited so long for this. I just can't believe it's happening right now." She smiled and pecked my lips.
"Don't forget how I didn't see you peck my lips before you walk out everyday." I chuckled and kissed the crown of her head.
"I couldn't help it. I thought I was going to break your hands when I first held it." I said stroking my thumb across hers.
She giggled and snuggled into me.
"Ryder." I hummed. "Sleep with me. I remember you saying you're hardly getting any sleep and I'm feeling sleepy."
I smiled as we laid down side by side. I wrapped an arm around her as I pulled her in. I pecked her lips as she smiled one last time before going to sleep. I smiled and went to sleep after her.
