Amethyst's POV
I was doing my homework when I got stuck on a question. No matter how much I think about it, I know it isn't the right answer.
"Hey, what's up?" I jumped a bit from Ryder's voice.
"I'm stuck on this question." I said.
"Trigonometry and Pythagoras. Amethyst, that stuff is easy as hell." He said. "Look, for this question, you need to find the longer line so you use Pythagoras. Make a line with your ruler crossing from A to D then you have your two short sides there. Once you've squared them, add them then square rooted it, you have your answer for line A to D."
I did as he said and it was the right answer. I turned my head towards him as I smiled brightly but jumped in shock at how close he was.
We locked eyes with each other. We looked into each others eyes, past the depths of them. I could see his feelings for someone but I don't know who. I had unconsciously gripped onto my shirt where my heart was when I found that out.
"Thanks for helping me. I can carry on now." I said as I looked back at my homework.
I continued doing the equations as hard as I could. He had helped me from time to time, pointing things out. By the time Ryder went out of my room and it was 9pm, I finished everything.
I stretched and yawned.
"Sissy, I'm tired." I heard Slate say to me.
I looked towards the door and saw him rubbing his eyes while yawning. I stood up and walked over to him. I picked him up and placed him on my hip. He instantly placed his head on my shoulder as he went to sleep.
I looked at him as I stroked his cheek with the back of my hand. I found myself smiling like always at him.
"Mum, dad. Uncle, aunt, cousin. I know I made a promise to you guys but am I really responsible? I'm broken on the inside yet I'm like a perfect girl on the outside. Can I really protect the ones I love? I couldn't even protect you guys." I said to myself as tears flowed down slowly.
"I...I...I love you sissy. Please don't leave me." I heard him say.
I stopped crying then wiped my tears away as I chuckled and hugged him tightly. He gripped onto my shirt so I wouldn't leave. He kept whispering about me not wanting to leave him.
"Shh, I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying here with you. I'll be an idiot to ever leave you." I said to him as he calmed down.
His hold on me loosened as I said that. He smiled in his sleep as I smiled as well.
"I love you, lil' bro. Always." I thought to myself.
