"You can't be serious Katherine!" Ava said with her arms crossed in front of her chest.

"They said I had no choice! It was either him or they will choose an innocent to take his place. That's the only way the balance will be restored" I said leaning against the gold pillar. I could feel the cold hard surface under my clothes.

"How could you not tell us that they warned you against this?" Merlin said from across me, he did not look very happy at me this moment. None of them did, well accept Sebastian.

"Listen I am sorry that I didn't tell you and for good reason. He is my best friend and I would go to the ends of the earth to save him! If that means that I have to do something that is against who I am so bloody be it!"

"So what you would really kill your own flesh and blood?" Eric asked and for a moment I completely forgot that he was there.

"Yes I would. He is no longer my brother! I'm done talking about this! I'll leave in the morning." And like that I walked back into the pool room.

I was seated on the step before you reach the pool. The soft whispers that once lingered in the water was no longer there. The spirits left, because of me. Not even Gwen was around to talk to me anymore. I read once that spirits are the guardians of both planes, the underworld and the living. So lost in the thought about what the spirits said to me in the pool that when Ava's slender body took a seat next to me, I felt my mind jump back to reality.

"I'm not here to argue. Just came here to talk and get away from the not so subtle flirtatious stares between Alex and Sebastian." Ava laughed taking a seat next to me. Her laugh sounded so sweet and innocent that you just wanted her to laugh all the time.

"About time"

"So will you really be able to do it?" Ava asked looking at me with her eyes. I could see there was something behind her eyes, doubt.

"Honestly. I don't know. I grew up with my entire life, my twin brother. The one that was there when my father died, when I fell down the great well." I could feel the tears starting to roll down my cheek. "How can a man like that turn into the criminal who would curse innocent men, tortures them to get his own way? My heart will always love him but I know what I have to do. Merlin said we are equals to one another but what if there a chance I can use his powers against him?"

Ava and I looked at one another, thinking about what I just said. If there is a chance that I can use Jacob's powers against him, then it means I don't have to use mine.

"There is a way for you to do that."

Ava and I both jumped up form cosy seats jumping around to see who was speaking with a deep and confident voice. Standing in the middle of the doorway was a young man, not any older than Ava. He had neat short brown hair, a very well-groomed beard that ran all along his thick jawline. He had very light green eyes, almost like a crystal's colour in his eyes. I have to say it made him look handsome and I could see in Ava's eyes she thought so too but she was too busy holding her black hilted jagged knife in her hands, ready to strike at the poor man. The man was dressed in a long grey cotton jacket with a white T-shirt underneath it. His black tight chinos matched his very pointy black dress shoes. Stylish!

"Hello Duncan" Ava had almost an annoyance tone to her voice.

"Hello Ava" He said with a smirk on his handsome face.

WAIT! WHAT?

"You know one another?" I threw my attention to both of them, giving them both the look.

"Katherine, meet Duncan. The last Watcher alive" Ava said thrusting her knife back into its red leather holster.

I remember something about them in Merlin's book. A Watcher is a guardian giving the power of strength, agility and the ability to see everything. They were once immortal but when a wizard crafted a weapon everything changed.

"Nice to meet you" I said as I extended my hand in order to introduce myself.

"Likewise" he extended his hand towards mine. His hand was cool to the touch almost on the verge of death.

"What are you doing here?" Ava asked folding her arms across her chest.

"The spirits told me about what they wanted you to do" His green eyes darting towards me.

"They aren't talking to me at the moment" I quickly added.

"They won't! You abused their powers for your own personal use!"

"I did what I had to! I don't regret anything!"

"You abused your gifts! Disrupted the balance of nature! What the hell went through you mind?"

"Enough!" Ava yelled.

Both Duncan and I went silent, turning our attention towards Ava.

"There no turning back now! What's done is done! In my own opinion I would've done the same"

"This before or after you remember your past!" Duncan shot back. By the look in Ava's face he hit the wrong nerve.

Without any warning Ava swung her left fist straight through Duncan's face! Duncan staggered backwards, his hand already placed on is cheek.

"Go to hell!" Ava said as she stormed out of the room.

"A little uncalled for I guess?" I said following Ava out the room.

Ava was moving at a very fast pace, so fast I had to do some light jogging in order to catch up to her.

"Are you okay?" I asked catching up next to her.

"Yeah I'm fine!" She snarled at me, what he said must've hit one massive nerve.

We walked back into the main room only to find everyone still here. Eric, Sebastian, Merlin, Igna and Alex all standing in a circle staring at one another with a look that sent a sharp and cold feeling down my whole body. What the hell is going on?

"What's going on?" Ava asked as she walked closer towards them.

Instead of answering Merlin turned to me, the way his brown eyes looked at me. They were like a family members eyes that were full of sympathy, hate and rage.

"We are not going with you" Merlin said but I already knew I was going alone, I didn't want them to go with.

"That was never an option!" I said crossing my arms across my chest.

"What?" Sebastian asked.

Instead of turning to face him I just kept my eyes focused on Merlin, ignoring Eric along the way as well. If I had to look him in the eyes I would never be able to stand my ground and now I needed to stand my ground. Out the corner of my eye I could see exactly how Sebastian was looking at everyone, like they were about to cast me out of the place but it wasn't he who spoke.

"What the hell is wrong with you people? She brought him back to life! She did the same for me! She is stronger than anyone I have ever met and no matter what you say, I am going with her!" Alex left Sebastian's side and stood next to me.

"She can be the strongest one in the whole bloody realm but I will not support in killing people."

"There is another way." Duncan voice came out from behind us.

We all turned around to face Duncan as he walked into the room. He had such a confidence to him that I only wish I could have but there was something about him that didn't make sense to me like how the hell did he even know we were here but you can't say no to any help especially now.

"And what is that?"
