{ 1 week later }
IVY'S POV
*i wake up to my alarm that i set the night before for 6:30am. i stretch and lean into joey. he has morning conditioning for his football team today and i start my new job. i yawn and shake his arm lightly. i kiss his cheek and get out of bed, knowing my presence being gone might wake him up. he starts stirring around in his sleep and i giggle tiredly as i walk into the bathroom. i french braid my hair into two braids and wash my face to wake me up. i then do my skincare and hear the bathroom door open, only to see a shirtless and tired joey walking over to me. i hug him and he hugs back, laying his head on top of mine.*
ivy- good morning sleepy boy
joey- good morning princess, how did you sleep?
ivy- i got eight hours so i'd say that i slept good. what time did you go to sleep?
joey- like 15 minutes after you, so i basically got 8 hours too because you've been up for 15 minutes
ivy- i'm going to go make breakfast, i'll see you downstairs?
joey- of course you will. i just need to brush my teeth, wash my face, and change
ivy- okay baby. i love you
joey- i love you more
*i smile and walk downstairs to let him do his business. i start breakfast by toasting 4 pieces of bread. i get out the peanut butter and cut up 2 bananas so that they are both in slices. joey hugs me from behind and i lean into him as i put the peanut butter all over one side of the toast. i put 9 slices of banana on each slice of toast and hand joey his plate. he kisses my forehead and we start eating.*
{ 20 minutes later }
joey- hey baby, thank you for breakfast. i have to head out for conditioning
ivy- okay love i will see you when i get home from work
joey- i'm going to miss you so much
ivy- i'm going to miss you more
*i look at him and wrap my arms around him. he hugs back and holds me for a few seconds. he kisses me softly and i kiss back, knowing i won't be able to kiss him for another 8 hours.*
joey- good luck on your first day princess. tell me all about it when you get back okay?
ivy- i was already planning to baby. i'll give you a massage so you aren't too sore tomorrow
joey- i'll look forward to it. bye princess, see you later
ivy- see you later love
*he walks out the front door and i take a deep breath. i start washing the dishes and by the time i'm done, i have 5 minutes till i need to leave. i quickly change and i walk out to my car. i start driving to the hospital for my first day of work. i park in my parking spot and walk inside, checking in.*
JOEY'S POV
{ 3 hours later }
*i just finished conditioning for football and i'm currently on my way back home so i can clean up. i know ivy's anxiety levels are going to be high today because she's going to a place where she doesn't know anyone so once i clean up i'm going to get her some flowers. i park in the garage and get out of my car, locking the doors and unlocking the front door. i stretch my body and walk upstairs slowly to the bathroom. i turn on the shower and wash my face before i take my sweaty clothes off. i get in the shower and wash my hair with ivy's shampoo. i tear up knowing i'm not going to see her for another 5 hours but i take a deep breath and wash my body off. i turn off the water and get out of the shower. i put on sweats and a white shirt before putting my slides on and walking downstairs, back to my car. i start driving to the grocery store and listen to mine and ivy's song. i smile big knowing that i'm living with the love of my life and before i know it, i'm parked at safeway. i walk inside and get a bouquet of her favorite flowers. i pay and walk back to the car, putting the flowers in the passenger seat. i drive back home and put the flowers in a vase before putting them on the nightstand and laying in bed to take a nap.*
{ 3 hours later }
*i wake up to the door unlocking and i hear ivy's voice.*
ivy- baby, i'm home!
joey- i'm in bed princess
ivy- i'll be up there in a second!
*i giggle tiredly and hear her open the fridge. she comes upstairs with some cut up strawberries and i sit up, wincing from the soreness.*
ivy- already sore love?
joey- yeah it was 2 hours long
ivy- i can give you a massage while we talk about today
joey- can we please? i'm so sore
ivy- yeah of course baby
*she sets the bowl of strawberries on the nightstand and looks at the flowers. she smiles big and kisses my cheek. i smile back and lay on my stomach.*
ivy- thank you for those babe, you didn't have to get me anything
joey- you're welcome and i got them because i'm proud of you. it's just a small gift
ivy- well thank you again
*i smile as she starts massaging my back. i groan in pleasure, not sexually, but just because my muscles are finally relaxing. she giggles and i lay my head on the side to talk to her.*
joey- how was your first day princess?
ivy- it was good. i have a partner that works in the same part as me and she showed me around all day so i guess you can say i made a friend
joey- that's good baby. what did you do?
ivy- i learned where things were kept, what to do with the babies depending on what they needed, the basic stuff that people need to know when working in a hospital. it was interesting though
joey- i'm glad you enjoyed it
ivy- i am too. how was conditioning?
joey- it was easy at first then as my body got tired, it was getting harder
ivy- that makes sense
*i laugh at her smart remark and she starts massaging my legs.*
