IVY'S POV
*once we got home, joey sat down next to me on the couch with everyone else in the room and called back the realtor. he told him that we want to rent the apartment and mark tells us we can meet with him tomorrow at a cafe to sign papers. joey puts his phone in his pocket and wraps his arms around me. i react with the same gesture and hold him close. he whispers in my ear.*
joey- we did it baby
ivy- i'm proud of us love
joey- me too
*he kisses my cheek and i smile, making him smile back. i lay my head on his shoulder and face his mom. she smiles big and hugs both of us. i giggle and hug back*
jen- i'm so happy for you guys
joey- thank you mom
ivy- it means a lot, thank you
joey- i'm going to take ivy out to lunch so we will see you guys later tonight
jen- okay be safe and have fun
joey- we will thank you mom
ivy- thank you jen
*she waves and we wave at her before saying bye to sophia and bella. i get in the car with joey and look at him with a serious face. he smiles and chuckles quietly.*
joey- why are you so serious babyy?
ivy- where are you taking me? i don't even look presentable
joey- you're wearing jeans and my shirt, you look amazing
*i smile and rest my head on my hand, making sure to watch him while he drives. he holds my free hand and i intertwine our fingers.*
ivy- babe seriously where are we going?
joey- i told you. i'm taking you to lunch silly
ivy- we are going to the wrong part of town for a restaurant
joey- who said i was bringing you to a restaurant?
ivy- you're still mysterious even though i've been with you for 4 years
joey- i like taking you on little dates
ivy- i know and i love them
*he smiles big and kisses the back of my hand. i giggle and look out the window, seeing the graveyard my sister was buried at. i tear up and look at joey. he squeezes my hand and kisses my cheek.*
joey- i thought you might want to update skylar on everything that's been going on before we have a picnic
ivy- i love it. thank you so much baby
joey- you're welcome princess. let's go talk to her yeah?
*i nod and wipe my tears as i get out the car. joey holds my hand close and we walk over to her grave. i sit down next to the tombstone and look at joey. he sits down next to me and nods, letting me know it's okay to talk or cry. i lay my head on his shoulder and look at her grave.*
ivy- hey sky, it's me ivy. i don't know if you can hear me or not but i just did one of the biggest things i've wanted to do since i was little. joey and i are going to sign papers for a lease on an apartment tomorrow. i just graduated from my dream college and i'm going to be a nurse working with the babies. joey took really good care of me when you passed away and he still does. i wish you got to knew him more because he's all i want and i love him to death.
*i sniffle and look at joey with a small smile. he smiles back and kisses me softly. i kiss back and turn back to her grave, explaining everything.*
JOEY'S POV
*after around an hour of talking, ivy finished and stood up with tears rolling down her cheeks. i wipe them away and kiss her forehead. she looks up at me and i intertwine our fingers.*
joey- you did amazing, i'm really proud of you
ivy- thank you baby
joey- you're welcome. are you ready to go eat and relax?
ivy- yeah i need to calm down
joey- i'll play our song while we drive, yeah?
ivy- yes please
*we reach the car and buckle in. i start driving and connect my phone to play the song. ivy's head rests on my arm and i lay my hand on her thigh. she sniffles and closes her eyes. i kiss the top of her head and drive down the street, heading to the flower field.*
{ time skip: 30 minutes later }
*i park on the side of the road and look at ivy as i turn off the car to see her sleeping. i kiss her forehead softly a few times and squeeze her hand while whispering.*
joey- wake up baby, we are here
joey- ivyy i packed your favorite foods wake up sleepyhead
*her eyes flutter open before she rubs her eyes and fully sits up. i kiss her cheek and get out of the car, grabbing the blanket and basket from the backseat.*
ivy- are we here?
joey- yeah. there's a small river with a bank we can eat by
ivy- thank you for all of this babe, it means a lot
joey- i'll always do anything for you
ivy- me too
*she smiles and gets out. i walk over to her and bring her to the spot i saw while driving by the other day. i lay the blanket down with the help of ivy and sit down, holding her sideways in my lap.*
ivy- this is beautiful my love
joey- i'm glad you like it, i saw it when we drove by when getting here the other day
*she smiles big and kisses me. i kiss back and lean forward, making her back bend slightly. i rest my hand on the small of her back while kissing her as i deepen the kiss. she kisses back with the same energy and runs her hands through my hair. i slowly pull away and she giggles, kissing down to my jawline. i tilt my head and she looks up at me, smiling. i smile back and she grabs food out of the basket.*
ivy- i liked that baby
joey- me too princess, now let's dig in!
