Chapter Seventeen

It's been a few months since our wedding and we've both gotten quite busy as I've been filming another movie luckily here in the UK this time for the last three months and I'm getting ready for Batgirl press to begin and Richard has been busy working and with press for the Eternals which is having its London premiere tonight. It's our first red carpet as a married couple. I am currently finishing up getting ready I've cut my hair short again so it's been much easier to style and take care of and it's also for my new role "You look beautiful as always my love" he says "Thank you and Gareth has done an amazing job as always" I say "I'll let him know next time I see him" he says and we head to our waiting car to head to the premiere.

We do the usual photos together on the red carpet before splitting up for solo shots and then photos with fans and then press "Freya last red carpet around this time last year you were just newly engaged to Richard and now your here as his wife at the premiere of his Marvel movie which is quite a departure from 1917" the interviewer says "I am taking on the role of the proud wife tonight Richard has worked incredibly hard on this movie like he does with all his projects and it is a little different but it's also an amazing opportunity for him to branch out into something new and be apart of a major cinematic universe that is Marvel" I say "Your making your own superhero debut shortly as Batgirl and people have been eager to see more since we saw a brief glimpse of you as Barbara Gordon in the Harley Quinn spin off movie Birds of Prey. Will we see your fellow birds of prey Huntress and Black Canary make an appearance in Batgirl" they say "The movie comes out next month and I'm excited for you to see more of Barbara and get to know her story a little better. As to whether her fellow birds of prey will appear I can't say but we will of course get to see Commissioner Gordon and maybe some other familiar faces. This was honestly one of the funnest projects I've ever done and I think we're entering a time where we're getting more female led superhero movies and it's sending a positive message to young girls out there that it's not just boys who get to be superheroes" I say "That's a great message to send. We'll be seeing you again very soon for your own movie premiere I hope" they say "Absolutely" I say and move on to another interview and I pose with Gemma and Rose and Richard and I also pose with Kit and Rose before we enter the theatre to watch the movie which is incredible.

I'm now in LA for the week and I'm staying with my dad whilst I do press for Batgirl and Richard will arrive in a few days once he's finished press in London. I'm making an appearance on Jimmy Kinmel which I'm recording but I've also been battling the stomach flu for the last two days but I'm luckily feeling much better for the recording and the premiere tomorrow and my press commitments because I had to cancel an entire day of press interviews because I was sick. I've finished hair and makeup and I'm now dressed and just waiting to be called out "My next guest is the star of the new Batgirl movie please welcome Freya Vittori Volkova" he says and I come out and greet Jimmy "Welcome your married now right to Richard Madden. I hope it went better than the Red Wedding did" he says "It did no mass murder or betrayal. We've been married about six months now and he hasn't gotten sick of me yet" I say "Your still in your honeymoon phase. Speaking of your honeymoon you were in Hawaii, Bali and Thailand all over a month" he says and he shows a picture from our time in Bali "Yeah we had both been busy leading up to the wedding and I was going to come back and start shooting another movie and Richard had work stuff on so we were just like we have this free month where we don't need worry about work and we wanted to visit these places so we took the chance and it was incredible" I say "I bet. Let's talk Batgirl you've brought Barbara Gordon to the big screen joining the ranks of the female led superheroes in the DCEU. What can we expect from this movie" he says "It's set before the joker paralysises Barbara and we see an earlier more carefree Barbara before she got caught up in Batmans dark world. There's some clashing with her dad about what she's doing but we also get to see their bond and how their both trying to protect each other. There's not really any romance of such like people are probably expecting but it's all about her journey from Barbara Gordon to Batgirl and I feel honored to join the likes of Gal Gadot and Ruby Rose and Margot Robbie bringing these bad ass females to the screen" I say and we chat some more about the movie and what's next for me.

I'm sick again the next morning but only once so I figure I'll be okay for my interviews today and Richard flies in later today and we're doing a video with Buzzfeed so I'd rather not risk getting other people sick including him. Interviews are done and we are now on our way to Buzzfeed studios where Richard will meet me from the airport. I've just finished getting changed into another outfit "Second outfit of the day I've linked my first one in my Instagram post but this is a free people skirt with a little slit, a free people cardigan I have a bralette underneath and Steve Madden shoes hair is the same makeup is a little more natural and I just have my wedding and engagement rings on along with the ring Richard gave me" I say and post it to my story. Richard arrives shortly after and gets changed "How are you feeling?" he asks when I join him in his dressing room "Better mostly I've been drinking ginger ale and eating saltines to help but I have the day free tomorrow so I'm gonna take it easy" I say "Good" he says. We film us taking a relationship test.

The next day I lie in and hav Richard bring me breakfast which is sweet of him although almost immediately after I throw it up and as I'm in the bathroom afterwards I realize something and check my phone calender "Oh crap" I say and I head downstairs. Richard is out doing a radio interview and my dad is working so I head to the store. Once I'm back I go back to my room and take the test and another one just to be sure and they both say the same thing but I want to make sure so I call a local doctors office and make an appointment for tomorrow.
