Telling Family and Friends

We've arrived in Elderslie and we haven't told anyone we're coming apart from Richards sister Cara who's making sure everyone is at home so we can tell them together. I ordered a tshirt online for the announcement and I have another one for when we tell our friends. We enter Richards parents and his other sister and his niece and nephew are in the living room "Where's mum and dad?" he asks "Mum's upstairs and dads in the kitchen why" she says "Tell them to come down and get Cara" he says and she calls everyone "What are you two doing here you were only here a few weeks back" his mum says "Can't we visit unannounced" he says "Course you can. Take off your coats then" she says and Richard goes first and then helps me with mine "What's your shirt say" his dad says and then his mum reads it and she realises what it means "Your not are you" she says "We are ten weeks we had our first scan the other day" I say and suddenly I'm enveloped in a hug and I can hear her crying "I'm so happy for you. Congratulations" she says and then all the hugs keep coming from everyone.

We have a nice relaxing weekend with Richards family minus the morning sickness that turned into afternoon sickness which resulted in me spending most of the day in bed but we are back home now and tonight is when we tell our friends our news. We've invited them over for dinner and we go through the meal acting completely normal apart from me not drinking which isn't too strange for me so no one suspects anything. We're now sitting around our living room and now is the time "Freya and I had a reason behind wanting you all here tonight. Your all as much family to us as our actual families and we wanted you to be apart of this new chapter in our lives like you've been for many others" he says "What Richard is trying to say is that we're having a baby" I say and theres lots of congratulations and hugs and handshakes and celebrations for the remainder of the night before everyone heads home.
