I have a photo shoot in the morning and the afternoon free as I have a event later today unrelated to Batgirl. Richard has some auditions and meetings today. I have my appointment in the afternoon and I don't want to go alone so I decide to ask my dad which means telling him why we're going "Dad I was wondering if you'd come with me to a doctor's appointment in about half an hour" I say "Sure but why your a big girl you don't need your old dad to be there" he says "In this case I do. I realized yesterday that I was late and with all the throwing up I've been doing I took some tests and they've all been positive but I wanted to confirm it with a doctor before I told Richard" I say "So I'm going to be a grandpa" he says "Possibly hence the doctor" I say and he hugs me "Of course I'll go with you" he says. We go to the doctors and they run some tests and I have to wait a few days for the results but I also fly back home to London in a few days so I asked if they could be sped up a little. I have to go home and start getting ready for my event all while trying not to tell Richard until I get the results back and not freak out about becoming a mom.
So today is travel day for us back home and I'm hoping the doctor will call me before our flight later. I've still been getting sick in the mornings and I've been super tired beyond the usual when I'm doing press tours. We're grabbing some lunch with a friend when my phone rings and it's the doctor so I excuse myself "Mrs Madden the bloods we took showed no sign of infection or a virus but they did as you suspected confirm you are pregnant about ten weeks to be exact so you were lucky to only start experiencing morning sickness now. Speak to your own doctor when you get back to the UK and they'll prescribe you some prenatals and also advise you about your other medications" she says "Thank you for everything" I say and I'm kinda in shock but kinda excited. I tell my dad when we get home and Richard is finishing his packing and he cries which makes me cry but we manage to pull ourselves together before Richard comes back down.

We're back home now in the UK and I've been waiting to tell Richard because I ordered something online to surprise him with which I hope he'll like and it's just arrived this morning and he's out at the gym so I've wrapped it for when he gets back. He gets back about an hour later "How was the gym babe?" I ask "Fine same old. I'm gonna shower" he says "Wait I got you something" I say "It's not my birthday or our anniversary so" he says "Technically we've been married six months and you know how I have a thing about half celebrations" I say and he opens it "A baby onesie" he says confused then it hits him "Are you serious" he says "Yeah. Don't be mad but I found out in LA and told my dad first because I didn't want to tell you til I knew for sure and it explains all my throwing up so I'm ten weeks already. I haven't booked any ultrasounds or anything because I wanted you to be there" I say "This is amazing news. I love you so much" he says and he hugs me "Your disgustingly sweaty right now" I say "God we have to tell my mum and my sisters and our friends" he says "Let's go see the doctor first make sure everything is okay. I can see about getting an appointment for tomorrow" I say "Great" he says and he goes to shower and I call my doctor.
We have a pretty chilled morning before our appointment and then we head off "So the doctor in LA said you were about ten weeks along which seems about right from the dates you gave me. I'll give you your prenatals and in terms of your other medications we can switch to something completely safe for baby and a lower dose if your okay with that" she says "Whatever you think is best and safest for the baby" I say "Okay then let's have a look at this baby" she says and she places the gel on my stomach and she moves it around until we hear the heartbeat come through the monitor and we see our baby "All is looking good strong heartbeat baby is growing on schedule no signs of any abnormalities" she says and Richard squeezes my hand super tight "I love you" he says "I love you too" I say and we kiss. We decide that we'll take a trip this weekend to Elderslie to see Richards family to tell them in person and once we're back we'll tell our friends.
