Interview

After my time in Cannes I flew straight to New York as I have a week of press before the show premieres and it's the only time I can take off from filming. I had a day of sit down interviews Saturday and I had photo shoots all day Monday and today I am going on Live with Kelly and Ryan and also Jimmy Fallon and Richard arrives in New York later tomorrow so we have a date night planned. First up is my Live with Kelly and Ryan interview and I'm just done with hair and makeup and I'm fully dressed "Our next guest is a model, actress and philanthropist and we love having her on the show please welcome Freya Vittori Volkova" Kelly says and I come out and high five and hug some people before greeting Kelly and Ryan "Hi how are you. I said we like having you on the show but this is your first time here as a guest" she says "I'm good and it is I came here with my mom when she was a guest here and my dad and I have been in the audience a couple of times we've spent some time at your house too" I say "Yeah you've babysat for us but my kids were not the only celeb kids you've babysat right" she says "Do you mean Elton John's children yeah my boyfriend tried to impress me with his friendship with Elton and it kinda backfired when I revealed I already knew him longer than my boyfriend had but he's worked with my dad and he and my mom were close he's always been someone I could call on when I needed advice which sounds insane when you say it out loud" I say "Speaking of your boyfriend he's on the show later this week promoting Rocketman which had an amazing reaction at Cannes" Ryan says and they show a picture of us from Cannes "He's excited about that. Yeah it was an incredible experience and the reaction was amazing I mean I cried and I felt so proud of everyone involved because the film they made is so special and perfect and I felt honored to be able to share that moment" I say "Have you picked up any Scottish from Richard or have you taught him any Italian or Romanian" he says "Kinda like there's times he's talking to his parents and he goes full Scottish compared to how he usually speaks and I don't understand what he's saying half the time but my dad and I talk on the phone and Facetime in Italian so it goes both ways. I speak Romanian to my grandparents when we talk but he's learned some phrases" I say "You've started a foundation in your mom's name recently can you tell us a little about that" she says "It's the Little Bird Foundation which was my mom's pet name for me and my grandmother calls me the same thing and it offers support for cancer patients and their families after diagnosis and during treatment and after if their is loss. It aims to help with schooling you know transportation to school tutoring cleaning and everyday household stuff that gets difficult when you have regular hospital visits and treatment. We offer counselling services also and it's not just for breast cancer patients it's for child cancer fighters and male cancer we aim to help relieve some of the pressure on these families and help them whatever way we can" I say "Incredible we're gonna take a quick break but when we come back we'll be talking Batgirl and the Last Kingdom" he says. We come back from break and they show a clip of the show which shows a little sneak peek of my character "Your going from bad ass viking to bad ass superhero. How's that feel"  she says "Weird the DC universe is such a huge thing and there's alot of pressure that comes with that but I'm excited to play Batgirl and it's something different" I say "How did this all come about?" she asks "It's been a long process and everything has been kept super quiet until recently. There were multiple screen tests and auditions and lots of secrecy but it's an honor it join the universe and bring another badass female superhero to our screens"  I say "We have to quickly mention the last kingdom your currently filming the fourth season" she says "Yes I fly back at the end of the week it's honestly one of the best things I've ever worked on. We all work hard and when the day drags on we always keep each other going" I say "Freya Vittori Volkova everyone" he says.
