Earth- The Evergreen House

A sweet old cottage in a part of the woods that had a town, but was not completely taken over by all of the technologies of the future. Inside was an orange cat sitting  on a high cabinet in the kitchen, waiting for his next meal to be served to him.

There was a tea pot being heated by the AI that was built into the house. The house did not contain a replicator for food and drink, but did contain the outdated house AI. These were used to help out with chores and cooking for people before the replicator technology was invented. The AI is now considered obsolete to most besides some older generations that live on Earth.

To most elders, the house AI is a close friend...until they have to be woken up by one.

"Miss Evergreen, it is time to wake up. It is 7 o'clock." The voice of a nice lady came over a speaker system that runs through the home. The main focus speaker was currently in the bedroom of Miss Evergreen.

The old woman stirred in her bed slightly at the sound of the voice.

"Miss Evergreen. You must get up, and your tea is almost ready."

Miss Evergreen finally sighed and sat up in her bed, rubbing the sleep for her eyes.

"Alright, Alright. Jenny, what is the weather like today?"

The AI named Jenny paused for a moment.

"The forecast says it is going to be clear all day with a high of 72 and a low of 63."

The woman nodded as she got out of bed. When she did, you began to walk to the kitchen, awaiting her tea that was always given to her at exactly 7:05.

"Jenny, will you feed Spot please?" the woman asked as she sat down at the dining table.

"Of course, ma'am."

The AI triggered the food dispenser for the cat, as he happily jumped down for the cabinet to eat. At the same time, the fresh cup of tea was transported in front of Miss Evergreen.

She sighed, "You know... the transported always manages to mess up. Every morning, a few drops never reach the cup," she explained as she wiped up the drops of tea with her napkin.

"You know, ma'am, if you order a new system, the transporter will be updated. That will fix your problem."

"You know I can't do that," Miss Evergreen waved her hand, "that would mean I would be getting rid of you too."

The AI paused. "I'm sorry, but I dont see the problem with getting a new AI. It would complete all the same tasks as I do."

The old woman scoffed. "You obviously dont get what I mean. Lets just drop this topic, and tell me anything I received."

"You have received one message from Doctor Tash,"

"Trash."

"One message from your sister,"

"Probably just asking about the cat."

"One from Mr. Neelix,"

"Junk. Also block him from my messages."

"And one message from the U.S.S Enterprise."

Miss Evergreen paused.

"The Federation? What for? Read it to me, Jenny."

"No need, ma'am. The message is not written. it is a voice recording."

The AI started the voice message as a beep sounded off.

"Hello, this is Doctor Leonard McCoy of the Star Ship Enterprise."

"Oh what a handsome voice," Miss Evergreen interrupted.

"I am sending this message on behalf of Y/N L/N. Y/N told me that you said you could help."

"Jenny, stop the message."

The message paused with a beep as Miss Evergreen stood from her chair.

"Y/N? After all these years? Its been a long time."
