You had reached the main hub area of the entertainment section of the ship. It was a large round room that had seats everywhere and included small food shops on the sides. Also around the walls were doors that lead to bigger stores, restaurants, arcades, bars, and rated gaming rooms for things like gambling. You were in awe as it pretty closely resembled old malls on Earth from when currency was used. Things like this still exist on Earth, but less abundant as they once were, and they mainly contain more necessary stores instead of ones strictly for entertainment.
Connecting to your inner child, you decided to go to the arcade. Besides, you could tell you weren't going to be the only adult in there. You quickly walked in, immediately captivated by the bright colored light and laughter of happy people enjoying fun games and prizes. You could see children playing with hologram animals, people taking pictures with hovering cameras that fly around waiting for someone to pay for a photo shoot, and even people playing retro games on consoles such at the PLaystation 10 and Xbox Series 15.
You smiled and almost skipped over to the closest game that caught your attention. It was a strange game called "Star Wars". You played as a strange robed man with a blade of light that killed horrible looking aliens and armored men who looked like they were wearing white buckets on their heads. Strange you thought, and how unrealistic.
"Is this what they thought the future would be like?" You laughed at the thought, and continued to slaughter the pixel enemies. That was, until you felt the tap on your elbow.
"Hello, sweetheart."
You turned around quickly, hands still on the controls, and you had to look down to see the person who wanted your attention. It was the Ferengi that winked at you earlier.
"Oh," you died in the game which allowed you to focus your attention on him, "Um...hi."
"I see you like games," he said with a smirk as he looked you up and down. Feeling uncomfortable, you turned around so your whole body was facing him, a better position to be in you think to yourself.
"Oh, I guess. I don't play them...that much," you responded.
He smirked, staring at your form again. "I'm the same actually. Anyways, I came over because I know I saw you earlier in the halls, but...this time I noticed all this." He pointed at your body, causing you to draw back in concern. He laughed at your reaction.
"No sweetheart, I meant the uniform of course." He grinned. "I see you're part of Star Fleet. That must mean you're a strong woman, right? I like that in a woman."
You began to back up to where you could lean on the side of the game.
"Oh...Yeah I am. Engineering actually," you responded uncomfortably.
"Yeah, I figured." He responded pointed at your com badge that at the engineering logo engraved in the center. You stared at it for second before hitting it quickly two to turn it on and off. You looked back at the Ferengi quickly in hoe he didn't notice, and smiled.
"Well, anyways," he continued, "I think I've said this, but just to make sure you heard, you're beautiful." You shifted in your stance.
"Thanks...but I cant be better than Ferengi women, of course." You forced a chuckle which he returned in a louder, more extreme way, almost mockingly.
"Hell no! Have you seen our women!" He laughed again. "Us men are basically born knowing we can do better than our own females. We like women more...your style." He smiled, starting to walk closer to you. "So, sweetheart. What do you think me and you go-" he was cut off by the clearing of a throat behind him.
"Now, I must've misheard this entire conversation, because I just know for a fact you are not saying what I think you're saying," said the voice behind him. The Ferengi turned around quickly and you looked up to see Bones who had walked in without you knowing since your were originally focused on the Ferengi speaking to you.
"Hello. Now, why don't you walk away from the lady and leave this arcade, hm?" he continued, crossing his arms.
"And why should I do that? Who are you anyways that you think you're better than me, grandpa?"
Bones glared at the alien before grabbing his shoulder and throwing him to the ground behind him in a swift motion.
"Get out!" Bones raised his voice sightly in anger. This caused the Ferengi to run off, probably back to this group you saw him with earlier. Bones sighed and turned around back at you and immediately softening his features.
"Are you okay? He didn't do anything, right?"
You shook your head as you walked forward and hugged him tightly. He was taken aback by this gesture, but ended up returning it by wrapping his arms around you.
"I've never mmet a Ferengi before, so I didn't know how to act to his actions. Was it just him?" You asked quietly.
Bones laughed. "No. They're all like that. Next time, just punch them."
