["We will be arriving at Earth in 2 hours. Than you for choosing The Tacoma as you choice of transportation. We hope you've had a great journey."]
You and McCoy were in your room, you bags stayed packed as the room was mainly just to sit in if you two were through with being put in the more public parts of the ship. You had expected to be out longer at the shops and restaurants, but after the incident with the Ferengi, Bones basically forced you away from the public part all together. You didnt put up much of a fight. You didnt actually fight at all considering he basically said to punch them the next time you saw one. As McCoy is a medical man under the Hippocratic Oath, you didnt take him saying that lightly.
You sat on the edge of the bed, feet dangling off the side as you were pushed back enough that you legs weren't touching the floor. Bones has taken his place on the white sofa chair, next to the glass divider that separated the main part of the room from the dining area, fit with food replicator and table with two chairs. Glass was a main feature in the room. Glass Headboard to the bed, glass tables, glass ceiling, etc.
McCoy tapped on the Glass divider with the knuckle of his index finger.
"You know, I never understood glass. For windows sure, but everything else? I mean, what ever happened to good old wood? Used on Earth, but you get out into space and it's all glass this, plastic that."
You shook your head. "Are you always so cynical about everything?" You laughed as McCoy looked at you.
"Well, there has to be someone who disapproves of things. I dont know...I guess I'm an Earth boy at heart and always will be." He took his hand away from the glass and laid it in his lap.
"Well," you started,"if you like Earth so much and hate...well everything outside of Earth, why did you join Star Fleet?" You swung your feet slightly, looking Bones over and you waited for his Responce which started with him shrugging.
"Its a long story. Well not that long, but it's something that unimportant. Maybe I'll tell you another time."
You frowned. "You cant tell me now? I mean, if it is unimportant, then why cant you say?" You grinning, legitimately wanting to know, but you weren't going to force him.
"Well it would be unimportant to you. Let's just say everything was taken away from me, and this was my last option."
The air became serious after what he said, but not awkward. You personally have never heard him talk of such things before, so it was odd hearing him talk about such things happening to him.
"Well that does sound serious," you replied. "I respect your opinion, though. So you dont have to tell me." You smiled at him and he locked eye. He stood up and walked over to you, messing up you hair. Afterwards he sat next to you, causing the bed to dip slightly.
"So, we are almost to Earth. I know your first wish was to see the Great Pyramids, but is there anything else to do on Earth?"
"Well, not really. I had done a lot M of traveling before I left for Star Fleet. The Pyramids were just the only one I missed that are actually interesting to me. Other than that? I guess I want to see my parents. Not sure how that is going to go, though." You frowned slightly.
"Yeah. I didnt think you told them yet." You shook you're head to confirm you had not.
"Well, Y/N, we will tell them together when we visit them." He placed his hand on your knee, reassuringly.
