"Y/N, the reason that you have lived so long is because until now, your illness has been stable. Only growing enough to where no one was able to notice it."

"And that means?"

"It may be growing at a rate that we can notice now."

You sighed and placed your head in your hands.

"Bones," you said with a cough to follow.

"Alright. Just... go back to your room, and Ill figure something out."

You look up from your hands to see Bones already at his computer doing god knows what.

Walking out the door to go back to your quarters, Bones looked over his shoulder to look at you.

"Please let her live," he whispered quietly to himself.

{Two Hours Later}

You room seemed empty. More empty than usual. The room that usually seemed to be bursting with energy and ideas that came straight from your imagination now seemed dark, gloomy, and even sad.

A sharp pain pierced the area on your chest where your heart would be located. Either that, or this whole problem with the illness had gotten you paranoid.

You winced as you held your hand over your chest.

Going to the mirror in your bathroom, you turned on the lights and pulled the collar of your shirt down to see the skin above your heart turning black.

You gasped, never seeing anything like it before, let alone it be on you.

Your returned your shirt back to where it was and had to keep yourself steady on the counter of the sink.

'What do I do? What do I do?' you repeated in your head over and over again.

You reached for the faucet and turned it on cold before splashing your face with the water.

The droplets trickled down your neck as you look into your own eyes in the mirror.

"I dont look sick."

"Most people dont."

You jumped at the voice and turned around to see Bones.

"Bones?! What are you doing here?"

"Well ya wouldnt come to the door. As a Doctor I thought that you not answering meant that I could come in anyways to check on you."

"Is that all?"

Bones Sighed and grabbed the hand towel on the shelf above him so you could dry your face.

"No. I actually came here to talk to you," he explained as he handed you the towel.

"Alright. I dont see how I could handle anymore information after what you told me in the Medbay."

He led you over to your bed so that you both could sit down. Pulling your legs up to cross them, you began to listen.

"So...you know what you have, dont you?"

"Yeah, but I still dont understand it fully."

Bones crossed his arms and sighed once more.

"Well, Y/N. To put it simply, your heart is....dying, believe it or not, but we dont know how to stop a heart from dying."

"Thats nice..."

Bones looked up at you sadly, not liking when you were in a bad mood in general.

"But hey," he moved closer to you and grabbed a notebook that was completely blank.

"I want you to write down some things for me."

"A to-do list?"

"No...I mean yes, but not a boring one. I need you to write down things youve always wanted to do."

"Like?"

"Anything."

Bones smiled at you.

"I want to take you to where ever you want to go, no matter how many places."

"Bones I-"

"Just....Please. I want to do this.

You leaned your head on Bones' shoulder and let out a heavy breath as he handed you the notebook.

"Ok, Bones."

Bones grabbed your hand.

"It'll be great. The trip I mean. Just think about that, and...nothing else."

You moved away from Bones, signalling to him it was probably time to head out and let you sleep.

You leaned against the headboard, holding the notebook in your hand.

"Goodnight, Y/N."

You didnt hear Bones and left the room silent.

He frowned and walked out, leaving you alone.

You hugged the notebook, scared knowing that the reason he was doing this was because you were going to die.

Bones leaned on the other side of the door as he slid down.

He sat on the floor for a while, thinking. He too could not stop thinking of the fact you would die.

No one could.
