I slowly opened my eyes. That was quite a sleep a had. I'd have to thank Gundham on Monday for his kindness.
My vision adjusted to the light and my heart seemed to get caught in my throat. This wasn't my house, it was some sort of basement. I had to find a way out!
I tried to move, but all that resulted was the slight creek of wood. With a sense of dread, I looked down to find myself bound to a chair. Struggling resulted in the sharp pain of a rope burn. My purse and therefore my knife was gone.
"Hey!" I yelled. "Let me out, creep! Show yourself and lets fight like men!"
I mentally facepalmed at that last sentence.
I heard shuffling come from about, then quick, echoing steps descend to the basement. the small window in the basement revealed that it was some man in a long white jacket and an odd haircut to his black hair. He sort of remind me of Mondo.
Holy shit, don't tell me it's--
"Who are you?" He asked. "Why are you all bound up like that?"
"Are you related to Mondo Owada?" I fired a question back.
He seemed to get even more confused. "Yeah... I'm his older brother, Daiya."
"I'll answer your questions once you get me out of this thing, please!"
Daiya nodded and started undoing the rope on one of my wrists, but I could tell he was struggling.
"So you didn't put me here?" I asked hesitantly.
"I would never to do something like this to any girl." He replied as he kept working. "It's part of my morals to not put my hands on a woman unless she asks." He sighed. "Mind if I take a guess on who you are?"
"As long as I can get home safe, go ahead."
"My brother has a friend named Kate that he constantly talks to me about. Would that be you?" He had an uneasy look on his face.
"Yep. So, wait, you don't think he..." I trailed off.
"I don't want to believe it, but he could have done this." He seemed to work faster now. The pain in his eyes was unbearable to the point I regretted being honest.
From above, I heard a door open and a familiar voice. "Bro, I'm home."
My eyes widened and I gave Daiya a 'what now' look.
He looked at the window. We both realized at the same time it'd be too small for me to be thrown out of. The only way out was up.
Daiya pointed at himself then the stairs. I frantically shook my head in protest, but he put his fingers to his lips and quickly yet quietly walked to the stairs. Giving me one last comforting smile, he ran upstairs.
