Eavesdropping and A Wing-Woman

I had skipped class for the first time hiding in my locker. 

My chances with Kazuichi are over...

I heard the bell ring and students start walk out of their classrooms and pack up to go home. 

Phew...

I kicked open my locker, the door hitting Hiyoko. Even though I didn't mean it, I laughed a bit at my perfect aim. She glared at me but kept walking. I stepped out and gathered my homework in my backpack. 

While packing up, I eavesdropped on other students' passing conversations. 

"I bought two new games last Saturday." That was Chiaki. 

"Ibuki can come over, but Ibuki has guitar practice in 30 minutes!" That was Ibuki. 

"Are you sure I should ask help from her?" That was Leon. 

That was Leon. 

Who was he going to ask? I needed to know! 

"She can be shy sometimes, but she's good at writing essays!" That was Asahina. 

Did he need tutoring? Wait...I'm good at writing...

"Alright, I'll ask her," Leon replied. 

The world seemed to go in slow motion. I waited to hear him to take a step toward some lucky girl. It took all my willpower not to pay attention and just zip up my backpack. 

I felt a tap on my shoulder. 

Is this really happening? 

I turned around. 

Yes, it is. 

"Uh, Kate was it? I was wondering if you could help me with writing an essay?" 

He's even more hot up close...

Celestia's advice echoed in my brain. 

"All you need to do my dear is to control yourself. Then you'd be able to talk to any of the three."

I nodded. "S-Sure, when d-do you want t-to study?" 

I'm still stuttering damn it! 

"Well, I've got practice tonight until five. There's a café a few blocks away if you want to meet up at 5:30." 

"Y-Yeah, that w-works." I should have considered if my mom was ok with this, but I'm not passing up an opportunity to be with Leon.  

"Great, thanks!" With that, he smiled at me and walked away. 

It took me a couple minutes for it to sink in. 

Should I consider this a date? No, he just needs help!  But he smiled at me! What am I saying!?

"YOU'RE WELCOME!" 

Asahina pulled me into a hug. "Am I the best wing-woman or what?" 

"I'm gonna faint..." I said, still staring at Leon's butt. 

Asahina released me. "You'll thank me tomorrow!" 

I looked at her, still in shock. "Why...did you...do that?" I asked with a shaky voice. 

A male's voice answered my question. "Because you need to stare at a different guy instead of Kazuichi." It was Mondo. 

"I do not stare at him! I look at him for long periods of time!" I yell, my face getting hot. 

"I guess you could say you're the next person up to bat  to try to win Leon's heart." Ibuki said with a wink as she walked past us. 

"Hey! Don't tell anyone!" I yelled at Ibuki.

"Don't worry," She assured me. "Ibuki is just a very good listener." She went on her way. 

I trudged away toward the front entrance and walked outside. 

Time to panic...
